Spring ephemerals are awesome. Sometimes you can stumble on hollows and river-bottoms where massive colonies of flowers have recovered. I can only imagine when those glens of flowers were abundant centuries ago...they feel like gardens of eden.

It looks like spring has finally sprung in Pa. The last few days here in Allegheny county have been beautiful. Time to get out and explore.

W.W.- I think it would be a bit rare to see a Black-capped Chickadee in Southern Lancaster County. My guess would be Carolina Chickadee.....jus sayin.
