Join us for another historic prison tour as we check out Shepton Mallet Prison located in Shepton Mallet, Somerset, England, UK
This historic and Grade ll listed prison was first built in 1625 and was closed in 2013 and then reopened as a tourist attraction in 2017 which also offers much more including an Escape Room experience, Ghost Tours, corporate events and mush more
Our guide for the morning tour was very good however he didn’t want to be on camera as he was fairly new to the job so I try and give you as much information as possible as I can, I highly recommend a visit

Did the re roof on this back in the 90's whilst it was still in operation. Was an experience for a young labourer metal cladder I can tell you! Great video.

I hope you do Lincoln at some point as you said you were born in Lincolnshire. Lincoln is such a nice city and suprised you and theme park world wide haven't visited it yet. They have one of the largest Christmas Markets in the UK and huge cathedral and castle with cobbled streets, Old shops and a large cathedral that use to be the tallest buildings in the world. Also they have a prison in the castle you can look around :) . Hope you do a blog there in the future one day

Good video just a tip on when u was looking around and talking about it did t look nice the black mold on the roof it will go like that as it has no heating its 1 of the reason it shut and as it was way way to old for it to stay as a prison

You wanna do the Ghost 👻 hunt here! Unfortunately didn’t do a vlogg. We arrived at 9:30. Met our guides. 4 in total. There was at least 35plus on the hunt. Very interesting & information. Seeing the prison after dark. Creepy yes. Definitely. Heard footsteps in another part of the corridor behind the room we were in. When there was no one outside. I well remember coming back & doing this tour after dark. The whole event finished at 3am! 👻 We have also done 2 other tours here at shepton Mallett. Daytime ones. First one there was loads of people on the tour. Second tour. No one. Just us. I prefer a tour rather than going round yourself…. U find out much more!

I preferred Shrewsbury but to be honest that’s had a lot of funding to tidy the place up a bit for filming purposes otherwise it would have looked the same

Interesting vlog Andy but looks like a bit of a dump and h&s nightmare for a tourist attraction... Mould and paint peeling all around meaning there is obviously damp issues and lack of heating means there will be airborne harmful mould spores if you are asthmatic not advisable to attend I'd say. Plus the timber support on staircase for lamp had a screw sticking out. Not do ur lungs or cough any good in there mate🤧😷
