Actually, Uber at one point told their drivers that they were not allowed to carry a gun in their own vehicles. Since too many people follow guidelines rather than the law, they adhere to such policies and then when things like this happen, people unfortunately end up dead or at least seriously injured. It’s technically up to every individual to be responsible for their own safety. I would suggest that you buy a gun if you’re legally allowed to carry and get properly trained with it and then carry it on you everywhere you can take it legally. I did and I haven’t regretted it. It’s saved my life multiple times as well as the lives of others.

As a retired State Trooper I had a similar incident when I started as a Uber driver. I picked up a couple of drunk ex military men who told me if I didn’t take them where they wanted to go they would make sure I would never drive again. With my Sig already in my left hand I told them I was a retired Trooper and I wouldn’t put up with any threats. One of the smart asses asked me if I carried and my response was “ what do you think I have in my left hand?” They didn’t say another word once I dropped them off around the corner.
