Also, sorry on the expose and puncture skill, but I could not get them in there natural environment (revealing stealth or breaking guard). One thing to note about Impale. It blights *everyone* and it belongs to a very speedy character. SB Impale into GR Lunge and then SB Peirce into another GR lunge sounds *pretty* juicy. Just make sure the guy in 2 is fine with being in 1 or 3 as well.

Huh...I always thought of the Shieldbreaker as a really good Hero but never realised how broken she can be...not that it would bother me, the Game is hard enough (for me at least) so I don't mind a little help from a strong Character. Though due to her Nightmares I rarely used her before my recent run due to being way too scared of the Sneks. On a Sidenote, I somewhat hope that Heroes in DD2 will be more unique and are less treated like every Hero in a Class is interchangeable - The Shieldbreakers Nightmares always felt weird due to her being a "Class" when the Nightmares are obviously meant to be a Trauma of the Character behind the Class. I think/hope that Heroes in DD2 will be treated more like unique Characters. (Maybe you will only be allowed one Hero per Class or something like that)

Manti Core might be cool to have a limited number of recruits in game, each unique, so that simply running out of surviving people is a loss condition. The carriage constantly bringing in disposables reduces the impact of losing characters - I worry more about losing the good trinkets.

I think they should keep what they have, but there should be a chance/events where a ‘special’ version of that hero appears and there’s only 1-2 for each class. For example, they could’ve made the SB a bit more balanced, but made it so you can get a ‘special’ SB with the better version of the abilities and also experiences the nightmares.

@Manti core she does help you get through some tougher dungeons and she can help you learn the game. One of the main reasons she is so strong is because of her weapon and the ability pierce, can hit the 4th position.

I hope for more uniqueness of characters in DD2, too I also can't wait for the DD board game end of next year which I plan to play with friends who don't play DD since there I'll be able to inplement rules that fit make more sense lore-wise like every hero only ever appearing once.

The snakes are hard countered by the Shieldbreaker, you just need to equip her with the proper skills before camping. Expose + Puncture turns those fights into easy mode. Also bring a Jester if the stress she gets is a problem for you.

The goblet is pretty good but it is a double edged sword. A couple of bad critical strikes or stress skills and bye bye sanity.

I love to use adders kiss, setup a mark and use captivate, it absolutely destroys enemies. It crits pretty consistently dealing high raw damage and leaves a blight. Meaning even they survive the hit, they won’t last long afterward because of the blight. It’s especially good with her rare trinket that increases damage vs marked. So good.

The color of madness trinket for the shield breaker is imo by far the best trinket she can get in the whole game, I am kind of surprised you didn't include that in your list, much better than the Legendary Bracer.

If I remember correctly, I do not try to add items from dlcs (I know she is a dlc character, but CoM is different). I try to assume everyone has just the base game unless I am doing an overall trinket review or dlc review. Thank you!

I am glad I can assist and thank you for watching. Regarding being low on cash, I will throw out a couple of ideas and you can help me hone in on what you think the problem may be for you. Only doing short dungeons, avoiding fights, no scouting in medium to long dungeons, buying skills and armor on people you are not sending into dungeons, not turning off the torch at last fights when applicable, not buying building upgrades to reduce costs of skills, stress facilities, or armor. Others can be removing or locking in quirks too early and sending heroes to stress facilities with a small amount of stress that could be reduced in the dungeon.

Was getting shafted with the turn out of those. I am running a couple of character mods so that might explain why. Thanks for taking the time to help out

Have managed to stack protection on a Shieldbreaker up to 60% before. CC trinket set, quirk, camping skill, and the crit bonus. Ate a crit Treebranch Smackdown like it was absolutely nothing.

60% protection is really strong and it is not very hard to get to with impale (for the critical strike buffs) and trinkets. Thank you!

- loved you showing her above the Monk, who she can also pair with in a Chaingun setup, except he uses Howling Fist, and uses it every other turn so that his other Skills get a buff, while she goes with one of her Forward skills during his pseudo-cooldown turn. Then, Adder's Kiss+Howling Fist again. - one of the better classes to bring to We Are the Flame, arguably the best class overall to bring to the Cove - I feel you missed an opportunity by not pointing out that Captivate is her only Skill that doesn't move her, which can help an Estate in teaming her with less-mobile classes

The pay to win dlc, not because of shieldbreaker, but because of the aegis scales. I've seen so many videos of insane strats being pulled off thanks to aegis scales.

I got it in a double bone royalty fight (0 torch of course) and that was it. However, I have heard people say they do entire dungeon runs back to back with 0 torch and no luck. So who knows.

dude, respect for this goblet guide by itself is pretty good, but lacking of dynamic and variations, i like your gameplay footage, pretty decent to give ppl clues how to use her, but its still op hero that can be used without strategy i personally like pierce, impale, guard most, other skills are just to use 1 of them from her camping skills i never used "cant be market" skill, but like buffs with real damage/utility when i 1st played her i was like "holy shit my beloved hellion was replaced by P2W" - still consider it to be accurate, but hellion still stand as 4th pos killer and raw damage barbarian

She is certainly one of the most versatile heroes since most positions and situations are not bad for her. I would agree, if you are looking to devastate the 4th position get a hellion since iron swan has such a good chance to crit.

Is this is a review? What do you mean you don't want to talk about built in features of a character you're reviewing? This is highly confusing to me, the snake nightmares are part of the shield breaker character, and those fights could easily catch a new player flat footed. I know because that's what happened to me. I like your reviews man really I do, but you're only doing half your job on this one and that's a bummer.

- 3 item slots mod ಠ_ಠ disgraceful! Impale -2% crit is actually pretty good for this aoe. Aoe skills almost always have negative crit, they need it for balance, cuz something like 10, or even 5 crit on 4 target nuke, on high crit hero will crit at least every second attack. And she indeed is OP, looks more like most mod classes -"I gonna made DD class, who is cool, so she will be super fast, with high crit and huge damage from any position to any postion thrue any defence possible, will move, dot and debuff eneimes, she will be so cool! But i balance it wil low hp and dodge. And give her skill wich grant damage immunity. Yeah, im genious!" Also its strange what you talk about tempting goblet, wich is super rare and can screw you on nightmare, but dont talk about her crystaline trinket, wich is one of the best personal item in he game.

The three trinket mod is very strong, but this is my playground run. I have had 4 other campaigns the normal way. On the topic of the shield breaker, she does feel like more of a mod class due to the fact she is so different than other base characters.

Shield breaker aka *Marry Sue* If she was balanced like rest of heroes, people wouldn't buy as much. It's all part of consumers manipulations by companies to squeeze more money from players with P2W exclusive characters, mechanics or items.

She certainly breaks some of the mechanics in the base game thus allowing an easier time, but she can still die due to her lower Hp and average dodge. I will say though (just speculating), I think heroes in darkest dungeon 2 will look more like her. I think the designers may have a better grasp of how to balance and increase difficulty while giving heroes more unique skills and mechanics. Or! I am 100% wrong and she is strong anomaly.

Shieldbreaker isn't pay to win. Pay to win is already included in your upfront purchase fee and you get what they call radiant mode. Originally this wasn't meant to be part of darkest dungeon in its early access days but after lots of paying fans demanded it, the devs caved and gave them what they wanted so that's pay to win.

I would agree the shield breaker isn't pay to win since it still takes planning and skill to make good party compositions for bosses and dungeons. Also, I did not know radiant was not meant to be a mode in the game. Cool things to know.
