So Miss Buttercup will soon be Mrs Buttercup, then mummy Buttercup. Exciting for your daughter. The ewe lambs are looking good, lush growth around at the moment. Darling duffis Alphie.

Your daughters are such great value. I love how you let them explore and are teaching them so much and at a pace they can deal with. You are so patient with them!

I’m an X shearer as mentioned before. U shear well for a part timer. One tip to make that last side better. U need to get at least one more full blow over the entire backbone of the sheep when you shear the long blow. Certainly the last section of the long blow ( approaching the head) u got no where near a full blow over the backbone. Certainly makes the last side positioning the sheep a lot easier. If u have to much wool to get off on the last side, u have to have expert control over the sheep. If u don’t have so much u can shear yourself out of trouble often, especially on that front leg coming down the last side.
@kiwifarmernz Жыл бұрын
Thanks very much for the tips I will try that.
@chessman483 Жыл бұрын
@@kiwifarmernz it’s like anything, it may feel uncomfortable to start with, but it’s certainly the correct way to shear larger sheep. U can get away with it on lambs . In fact top shearer’s only just go over the backbone on lambs.

Looks like you drove past the Little River Vet & Cattery with Paul and India, they are awesome. I've used the Vetlife clinic right in Little River before and they were good, but Paul is definitely my go to Vet.

What....a.....super......mob....of .......ewe lambs🤩 You gotta be really stoked with those. Lambs still coming to over £140/head but I’m down to my last 100 But I can see it dropping soon as more spring lambs come foreword.

Yeah with sending your young bulls to the alliances you will be better off for it. They do pay well for your stock. Buy shares and bounds they pay good divs.

How do you feed all those dogs, we have five Border Collies and they eat two to three kangaroos every week. You don’t have that natural pet food supply on hand, have you taught them to eat Possums?
@kiwifarmernz Жыл бұрын
Mainly blackhawk dog food. We do feed some cull ewes and the odd possum.
