My Father was a Diehard Ford Guy. I owned a 1997 850 T5 and later a 1998 S70 T5 and whenever my father would come by he would say those Volvos have good Bodies and this was in Chicago where they have Brutal Winters and you could destroy a car there in 10 years. I still have the S70 today and at 24 years and it runs and drives fine.

Hi Gregson, I've been following you guys on KZbin since you started with the first V70R. Not a social media person and typically not the type of person to comment publically. Been a Volvo nut for past 10 years being introduced by mechanic friend and driving his beat up 850 turbo wagon with 745,000km or approximately 460,000 miles. I was so impressed, I bought my first one the next day followed by I'm not sure how many others since. Because of the same friend I never ventured out of the P80 style and before watching you guys had no interest in anything newer then a 98. Before watching a few of the first videos my collection was 3 850 turbo wagons and a 98 S70 T5SE. Had to let one of the wagons go and currently unloading the T5SE because just before this Covid thing started I was able to pick up my second V70R. Yes, because of you guys I'm the proud owner of two beautiful Black on Atacama V70R's. Unfortunately they're both automatic but still a lot of fun to drive and I have to agree for a 15 year old body style probably the best looking wagon out there. Nice to know there is big following and maybe one day I'll have the time go to some meets or even join you guys in a convoy to the IPD garage sale or something like that. Keep up the great content, stay safe and healthy. Cheers from Toronto Canada.

I will never sell my V50 (or my Amazon for that matter). These cars are so unique, and there really is nothing else like them. That five cylinder sound, paired with a manual transmission in the most unassuming body style there is just makes me smile. I love mine, despite the flaws, and will keep it forever, continually improving it as the years go by.

@TwinTurbo Ray Holy crap that's amazing. Something I can only dream of. There's only one other somewhat cool Volvo in my town. Silver V50 T5 R-Design driven by an old lady. I understand you perfectly! I was already playing with the idea of a V70 P2 here in Germany when you started your V70R-series. Those episodes convinced me that these are the cars for me! A few weeks later i found a pretty well preserved one in Holland and bought it immediately (2003/M66/Black/Nordkap/Sunroof). Reason number 6: you learn a lot about cars by owning and restorating one of these: They are complex machines having AWD, turbo, Four-C, angle gear, etc... etc... but from a generation where you can still do a lot of repairs by yourself. My luckily-probably-never-going-to-happen-price: 35k€ (used to be 30k€, but now I added the third row seat in the back :^D). Keep posting

As a Swede i find it really cool that americans enjoy Volvo's as much as we do here in Sweden. I grew up and still lives right outside Gothenburg were Volvo was founded and still manufacture and develope many of their cars. Volvo's has always been there anaywhere you went you saw one, especially the V70 and XC70. The Police and Fire Department use them, my friends familys growing up had them, my neigbours had several and eventually even my own family got one in 2016. It really makes me as a Swede happy seeing Volvo's beeing loved and taken care of overseas.

These are one of the all-time best car. Don't sell. The joy of driving and owning these can't be put in words. Volvo ownership put us out of the rat race. You simply will forget about wanting to be king of handling, king of performance, king of this, king of that. The car simply let you enjoy being inside of it, using it daily, driving it around Occasionally you'll embarrass some sports car driver when you floor it cause this soccer Mom grocery grabber is capable of leaving behind many sport cars if they're tuned right. Plus, comfort of these seats are hard to beat. You'll never find so many great traits all bundle up in one car like the V70 of an XC70.

Perhaps you could do a long format video from a drone behind your car or a camera mounted up over the back or up and over the side of your car (so we can see the car and the environment) as you cruise the Blue Ridge Parkway or Broadway in Manhattan from Ft. Clinton to the Bronx or through Coney Island...or...or... some interesting sound track but also with the natural sounds of the car and environment... : ) ...could be a super interesting travel and car combination : )

recently found your channel after purchasing my own 04 S60R. did a little research on your point about rarity, and I found that there were only about 3400 V70Rs sold in the US between 04 and 07. only about 40% of those were manual transmissions. couple that with your blue paint and atacama interior, and I suspect you have quite the rare car on your hands. no doubt less than 100 units; probably fewer than 50.

I would say that there are definitely better cars out there, but where else are you going to get a quick 6 speed manual station that is capable of hauling all sorts of stuff? The 6 speed cars are incredibly rare and to me the 6 speed makes the difference whether to deal with the little issues or not. Great seats, great looks, sounds great, and decently quick.
