Good vid! Just fitted mine. I’m finding they release so easily - handy for beginners.
@jeremyw.4654 жыл бұрын
Yes, but that just depends on how fast you tighten them with the hex wrench ;) So they are actually good for all! And for beginners I would recommend to loosen fully, like I did, because then it's easier to get out again and not be have an accident 😬😉

What shoes do I need,as I have never ridden a bike where cleats are needed
@jeremyw.4652 ай бұрын
Hey William, there is no specific brand that sells them, just find one which fits you and which has the SPD System integrated. I for instance ride some Shoes from Vaude, but any Firm will do ;) Cheers!

@jeremyw.465 Жыл бұрын
Hi Raul, as far as I can remember there where some Shimano Replacement Pins for PD-T8000 / PD-EH500 In the package but if not you can buy them separately and screw them in with an allen key. Be careful to buy them in the same length as the other which are still on, since there are two different sizes! To make Shure you buy the right leanth just take out one and measure it. Hope that helps ;)

@@jeremyw.465 i just got mine and already installed.it in crank. I forgot ro put grease. Is that okay?
@jeremyw.4653 жыл бұрын
Hey@@warpampee I would strongly recommend you to take them off again and put grease on, since that only takes 2 minutes and you will prevent the pedals from getting stuck in the thread of the crank arm, because then it is really difficult to get them out again and they will rust over time. Just like I did it in the video and also: you don't have to tighten them very tight since that also makes it difficult getting them back out and it's just not necessary . Just give them a good pull not more ;) Hope I could help (Update Video is ready to be uploaded, so stay tuned🤘)

Are these pedals compatible with shoes that have three holes on the bottom? What cycling shoes do you recommend with this?
@jeremyw.4653 жыл бұрын
Sry for not having answered your question! On the following website there are different types of shoes and compatible cleats listed and as far as I know one cannot use those shoes with 3-holes with the SPD-system (rather with the SPD-SL or so called "Look") so they wouldn't be compatible with the SHIMANO pd-eh500 for those you would need shoes with only two holes (also listed on the Website) "Find the Type of Cleat Wedges to fit Your Bicycle Cleats" blog.bikefit.com/bicycle-cleat-cleat-wedge-compatability/ I hope that's still helpful for you!

Is it hard to find right side not watching on it?
@jeremyw.4654 жыл бұрын
No, it's actually quite easy! After a few rides I got the hang of it and of course sometimes the wrong side is on top, e.g. on the left side, -->then lift the left foot of the pedal --> turn with your right foot the pedal half turn around the ax --> and then the other side of the left pedal will be on top again and you put your left foot back on! And of course at first you'll have to look if you turned it far enough, but if one practices it gets easier ;) I hope I could help you👍🚲

Hello friend, how is it to ride with the platform side? Thank you.
@louis89133 жыл бұрын
Had the exact same model and switched because of the too narrow flat side. I tend to use the flat side more often than the clipless side and can’t really recommend using that pedal with normal shoes. The flat side is too small for my size 10 shoes, leading to a lack in contact and aching feet. So, if you plan to use the flat side more often than the spd one, you should look for a pedal with bigger surface.

Yes they do ;) On the underside on your shoe you have a few holes in which you will need to put the SPD Clip, which will be included in the pedals packagin and them your good to go 🚴♂️👍

When you're clipped in, is the foot in contact only with the SPD cleats (like in the case of a usual SPD pedal) or does it also touch the surrounding frame? If the pedal was constructed in a way that your shoe touches a greater area, this would provide more comfort.
@fasy164 жыл бұрын
im using the same pedal. and ur foot is only in contact with the spd because of the shape of the pedal
@jeremyw.4653 жыл бұрын
Exactly as @davidrebi123 said, on that side of the pedal where the SPD-clip-system is on one doesn't touch more than that because the flat side is curved away from it as can be seen on the following picture: images.app.goo.gl/7QenRQru99kNomsT6

would they be suitable for a road bike
@jeremyw.4653 жыл бұрын
Hey Tommy, that totally depends on if you are only going to use them when going on a ride or if that is your bike to do everything with. Because they are made as an all-rounder and as such they are really good, but for using them only on your Roadbike I would rather recommend such ones which have two non lipless sides since that is more comfortable. So it depends on what you want to ride with your bike and if you want the option to also be able to ride a flat side now and then. Hope I could help 👍
