I have the 8k and 14k Gosa, picked up a 140kilo black fin on the 14k that handled it very well. The drag sound on the Gosa is what wins for me… since we fish in heavy winds and might have some distance between us and the rods which allows me to hear when I’m on.

That sound though😳😳😳 it’s NEXT LEVEL!!! You are 100% correct- that’s what I love, you can be miles away and hear that ratchet sound🥰

Hi. Once again awesome video. I would suggest a video on how to maintain your rods and reels after a fishing trip. Perhaps you guys have your own ways on how to. Could learn something different to perhaps some of ways in which we do it.

So that depends on what reel? Both of these, we honestly just rinse under the tap after use, the IPX helps so much. If it’s a different reel, we can do a separate video on cleaning🤙🏻 Let us know😎

I have the 2500 standard slammer with 15 lb braid and it’s notorious for making wind knots. I have Shimanos too and they NEVER have wind knots. I love the concept that Penn has but it does not seem to work. Wish I could make it work. I’ve already removed a lot of line. Help?
@untraceablefishing Жыл бұрын
I’ve fished with a slammer for 7 years and have never had a single wind knot… on multiplier reels, yes… but spinning reels, no. If there is too much braid, then I can see why it may knot up with the spool being too full. I really don’t have answers for this one because I’m not with you to see🙈

@plasmoske Жыл бұрын
I would say it's probably the line you're using rather than the reel. I only use certain braid brands and the one time I used a cheaper brand, I was getting wind knots constantly. And when I removed it all, it stopped. Some lines don't peel off fast enough or come off smoothly and this can result in wind knots.
@markgrotto7852 Жыл бұрын
@@plasmoske thanks!!!! I just put power pro on it. What works for you?

@@markgrotto7852 I generally stick with the either Daiwa J Braid 8x Grand or Sufix 832. The new Daiwa J Braid Expedition is also very good as well from what I'm hearing but haven't tried yet. I love my Sufix 832 though. Colour doesn't fade or rub off as easily and it's very smooth.

Hi, Found your channel 2 days back and your videos are very insightful. I want to start spinning and looking at buying a good setup. Currently looking at the following: Assassin Amia Zero 11ft XHeavy Kob Special 2pc 1,5-4oz Paired with SHIMANO SARAGOSA SW A 8000HG Both from Bilimoria as they are somehow the cheapest by a fair amount. Would you rate this a good setup for spinning and can this also be used for general fishing with a hook and sinker trace and bait? Ive been a casual angler for about 29 years fishing maybe 8 to 10 times a year. As a new years resolution I have decided to up my game this year and work towards upskilling as much as possible and fishing as often as I can, at least once a week. If the above setup works for spinning and bait fishing then it's a win win. Thank you again for the informative videos, I'm looking forward to going through all your videos this weekend :)
@untraceablefishing9 ай бұрын
Hey FISHO🤙🏻 Super stoked you found our channel- we hope you enjoy the videos. That rod and reel setup will be a beast for artificial and bait casting, you won’t be sorry. You could maybe bump up to a 10k Gosa, but not necessary (rather save on weight). You’ll have that rig for a very long time, and will fall in love with that Gosa ratchet the first time you hear it🥰

@@untraceablefishing Geez, never expected such a quick response, thank you, much appreciated, hope to get it next month :) I did consider the 10k but again, thought of the weight. You did mention that the 8k and 10k has the same body size, with different spool sizes, perhaps I can look at getting a 10k spool and use them as desired? I'm going to visit a local store to compare both weight wise anyway and make a decision, I see the price isn't much off between the two on bilimoria. Thanks again 🤙
@untraceablefishing9 ай бұрын
@@kavz187 I think the 10k and 14k are compatible, but I’m not sure on the 8k to 10k… they could be, because there isn’t much of a size difference. And yes, we do respond quickly🤣

@untraceablefishing7 ай бұрын
Budget dependant… But I would look at the Penn Battle DX (we have done a review on our playlist for Tackle Tuesday) or the Penn Slammer is a very good choice. If you have no budget- then the Authority for sure is the way to go. I’d say max a 6500 (which may even be too big for rock and surf). Hope that helps🎣👌🏻

Hi Guy's help req'd... one of those req'd features google won't find.... I am fishing for Sea Bass from a high cliff 100 meters (110 yards) with no access down... I gotta reel them all the way up, dead weight n all. I know most reels will reel up the fish but here's the deal... when reeling in water and reeling a dead weight (2- 2.5kg - 4lb)... that's a whole different league of power, smoothness and build quality. Kinda the ultimate test of a reel quality you could say. I am hoping some of you Guy's know which reels stand out for this? An open faced reel weighing around 485-500grams (1pound or just over) to match my rod and allow other uses. Thank You Guy's in advance.
@untraceablefishing9 ай бұрын
The guys on peirs use a flat ring type net attached to 3 guide ropes and lift it that way. Most multiplier reels of medium size can lift a fish of up to 10kg if rod is strong and it's done slowly. Tough reels like the finnor offshore or even penn slammer should lift up to a 5kg weight but only the bigger sizes. Hope this helps- it’s from our local tackle experts🤙🏻
