If there's one thing I think this game made a mistake on, it was not having a federation character who just piloted GM's in the aces mode. Like imagine getting to play with a GM sniper or command type or c type in a boa qu?

Yea, there were a few notable aces like Lydo Wolf and Tenneth A. Jung who would have been fun characters to use since their final machines were just GM Snipers and GM Command (Space).

If I remember correctly, Shin DID survive the OYW. He appeared in Johnny Ridden's manga and he also appeared in Gundam EVOLVE piloting one of the 3 Zeta Gundams built in Karaba and codenamed "Grey Wolf". He piloted with "White Unicorn" (Amuro) and "Red Snake" (Yurii Ajissah). How canon Evolve is... in question... (there is an Evolve episode where Quess isn't killed and actually saves Hathaway from his heavily damaged Jegan) but the fact that he appeared in more media after the OYW means the writers aren't done with him yet XD Also another fun fact: there was a conversation between Shin and Johnny where Shin thought Johnny was Char Aznable, much to Johnny's annoyance XD Something like: Shin: Oh! You're the famous Red Comet! It's a pleasure to meet you! Johnny: Im not the Red Comet! Im the Crimson Lightning! Shin: Oh, pardon me. Well then, I will count on your support, Crimson Lightning Char Aznable! Johnny: ... -_- forget it...

Events of that episode was explored in the Gundam Pulitzer manga where Kikka Kobayashi (now a College student) interviews someone involved with Karaba and Amuro Ray during the Gryps War.

Shin was my favorite zeon pilot but his first custom Zaku with the white head and one white shoulder seemed goofy. Like he looked like he was dunked in flour or something

I heard the in universe explanation was that the zeon forces had difficulty finding enough white paint to do the job properly early in the war and Dozal had to requisition it personally as a favor for Shin and as a means of propaganda to counter all of Kacilia highly colored and flashy aces.
