I loved his voice back then. Still an awesome singer but he used to really sing through the pain and hurt.

@@markcourtney1088yes, and I’ve ALWAYS preferred the 2 original guitarist and bassist in this band by immeasurable amounts. The ones who took their place (and are in band now) have always been a HUGE disappointment to me. I’m not saying they aren’t talented musicians.. the bassist plays a lot of instruments and sings.. BUT, that’s BESIDE my point. It is my opinion that when they were original, they were on their way SUPER HIGH because the playing was REALLY great with tons of energy off the chart, their styles all meshed PERFECTLY in music and in lyrics and to me, when they were replaced , the style, vibe, sound and energy as well as songwriting all fell short and Shinedown NEVVERR recouped what they had . Downhill and DAMN if it isn’t a shame! I believe that I seriously understand why the first 2 originals couldn’t stay- but damn if there only could’ve been some way to have worked thru the problems.back then. I suppose it just wasn’t possible at that time, and Bent & Barry didn’t have the time to wait forever for someone else to get it together. It REALLY SUCKS. Super unfortunately (for me) I missed seeing them when they were together. I ended up catching them twice with the new lead & bass… it was “o k “, but just not even close to what I wanted. I understand that since the replacements, they continued on and newer listeners ended up liking them etc. I’m happy for them & Shinedown, but, those fans have NO IDEA what they missed or could have been. When I feel like some Shinedown, I pull up stuff like this or, their last show of their first tour (in Myrtle BeachSC and just reminisce and ENJOY☺️

i have been a musician, singer song writer, in and out of bands for the past 18 years, i do my acoustic project now, but besides that, if i was Brent Smith i would have stopped singing and just joined the party... one thing i cant stand are people that do not respect what you are doing, you are spilling your heart and emotions out for people to hear.. these people are completely blind to the talent that is in front of them. watch videos of aaron lewis, you talk, he doesnt play. im the same way!
@ls3xavier764 жыл бұрын
People just want to enjoy the party with the good music. They don't take in account for the soul in the singer rather just see that they are good musicians

This song is like hearing the thoughts of my heart being sang and I hear the realness of what I've been put through, as well as, have put myself there. Brent has always had a way, especially with the first album to just speak to the soul and relay the message that he's been through a lot of the s*** that most of us go through too but feel like we're the only ones. He let me know that I wasn't the only one with nobody else could and shine down will forever be a favorite band and Brent Smith will always be my favorite rock and roll singer but also just an amazing songwriter that anyone can tell rights directly from his soul and heart.

Half the people there only know shinedown by the songs simple man and 45. They are dead ass quite through those songs and rudely disrespectfully talking through this song. Check out the other songs by shinedown at this venue. Aka drunk dudes living room. It reminds me of my twenties playing in bands and people coming over to drink and watch us play. Our singer was amazing just like this guy. There are a lot of phenomenal musicians out there that will never make it big but will always make for a good get together and some good jam sessions. When me and my buddies jammed we never had this many people in the house watching us if we did it woulda been a spiritual humbling thing though. Either way when we played it felt good watching people nod their heads in time to what we were playing
