I don’t think a lot of people realize how incredibly amazing this performance is especially relating to the situation. No soundproofing, no editing, no auto tune, not even a microphone. Literally just him being filmed by an old video camera or phone or something singing in a house full of people. That’s just pure raw talent, nothing else.

My uncle passed away in 2007. I miss him every day. It’s been 17 years since he left us, and I’m forgetting his voice. He loved to sing and play guitar, especially this cover. I swear on my life, him and Brent Smith could have been vocal twins. Identical. So when I miss my uncle, I listen to this video and close my eyes..it’s like he’s singing to me all over again.

I cannot believe these guys exploded as big as they ever did. They opened a show for us years ago when we went to Jacksonville as later we broke up and they continued and became bigger. 10 million record sales later they’re still Shinedown. Absolutely phenomenal. I vaguely remember them all those years ago but looking back they were just simply Musicians just like we were. Normal dudes that were cool to hang around and just humble.

I love this. You know they were probably just hanging out at a house party and did a spontaneous performance. The mark of a great musician, is when they only need an acoustic guitar and a voice. :)
