Hi Jay awesome job champ . I was a brick layer and roof tiler for 30yrs . So nice to see work done so well by you.👏👏👏👍🙋♂️I used to use 3 sand 1 cement for ridges and 2 sand 1 cement for and oxide for pointing. Do you cement ridging in one operation like bricks. .fantastic job love your videos . Get well soon champ jamie from Australia.🥂cheers

Hello James my friend I’m glad you liking it :) we also use 1 to 3 mix but that part of the roof there was on a very hot day that’s why the 3c4s mix with 52 mortar .. first they advised me to go 1cement and 1 sand mix but I thought let me try 3 on 4 seems better workable I guess .. thanks man What do you mean in one operation ? No I did the barn first when we finished the tiles there 4s3c mix The other roof was 1 to 3 mix
@jameshowcroft321 Жыл бұрын
@@JayKTS thanks Jay I understand what your saying. I mean when you put down you ridging tiles in cement do you clean up the mortar around and make it smooth as you go. Like bricks . Cheers Jay I love the old style building in your country they are so beautiful. The skills you have , not many trades in Australia can do everything like you. I was lucky i helped family and friends in different trades for no money in return they showed me , great swap hey . Take care Jay and thanks again for explaining cheers 👍👍👏🙋♂️

Hi Jay, Your work cheers me up a lot. Best workmanship done with a sense of humour and so much care. My wife and I love Belgium and love looking at your interesting quirky and architecture. Where is this building and is it a home or commercial premises? Most importantly, how did the birds fare and what type. Suffering tendonitis in ankles so do appreciate your situation Go well my friend.. Bob From Somerset (where the cider apples grow) England

Hey mate , this is in Wuustwezel- Gooreind.. I work mostly in the area of northern Antwerp .. the birds did well I covered the hole good for the rain and I think they all flew out .. these are jackdaws I believe ( Kauw in Dutch ) If you like birds I got maybe a hundred or more barnswallows at my house .. cheers bob thanks a lot man :)

How do you guys work of those tower scaffolds. Scaring me just watching😮
@Rowlinq_ Жыл бұрын
jay, have you done "Brandgevels" already? It's like a typical wall thing for older farmhouses where the wall itself peeks slightly above the roof level? Sometimes they do em with "zwaluwstaarten/ schuine strekken"

VHV ? Dank je wel jorrit !
@pronkjap Жыл бұрын

32, 42 and 52 cement does not make a difference in hardness/strength. It just tells you how fast it will gain it's strength. So a 52 cement will be harder after 30 days than a 32 cement. However, after so many more days, it should reach the same amount of strength. But it keeps on gaining strength for the rest of it's life, very minor, but still does.
@JayKTS Жыл бұрын
Hello the reason for this mix was because of the very hot weather .. this would prevent the burning of the mortar .. it seems like it worked
