Though I stopped playing for a bit right as the update happened, I'd had a few Shinies out of random luck. Nothing I super wanted but still! Weirdest encounter was a massive outbreak of Eevees and then I got two Alpha Eevees spawning in right next to each other. One a female and the other a male. Weirdest part was they had EXACTLY the same height and weight. It was like twins were born, it was so bizarre.

I think alphas are always max height and max weight

@@frengulon Not always. Yeah, Alphas are always the same size, but some pokemon, like Onix and Steelix have their Alphas SMALLER than the max size normal spawns. Others, like Mamoswine have the max size normal spawn and Alphas as the same size

You got a lot of shiny monkeys in your hunt for a shiny monkey. I'm a little surprised you weren't checking the Piplup/Prinplup spawn too during the Empoleon hunt. It's only like 10 yards further and you could have found one of them randomly as a Shiny Alpha to evolve.

i decided to do these hunts too but didnt know how committed i would be until i got the infernape first time, which sent me into a high and i found torterra the next day. i started for empoleon the day i found torterra and a month and a half later i still havent found it 😢

I’ve been inspired by these hunts, and I started a hunt of my own for shiny alpha gliscor. I have phased 3 times so far, all are repeat shinies but one was the alpha rhyperior, which is only slightly larger than my other shiny rhyperior. Not even a gligar yet, though.

Dude no joke I was shiny alpha hunting a Decidueye and I got it!! Honestly to complete the starter hunt you should shiny alpha hunt for Samurott, Typhlosion, and Decidueye cause I have all three. Got my shiny alpha Samurott and Typhlosion on Monday and my shiny Alpha Decidueye just about an hour ago and now I also have my alpha shiny sinnoh starters

How to you shiny hunt alpha starters

@@Kayoshiro- the hisuian starters? It's easy to hunt for them but it's kind of hard to explain. I'll do my best but if you still don't get it then look up "shiny alpha pokemon" by Austin John plays he has 2 videos about it. I recommend the second one since it's easier. Basically you have to use the massive mass outbreak and get an outbreak of one of the three starters, it's important that the starter has a star next to its picture cause that means you'll get a second outbreak and you have a small chance of the next outbreak to be all alphas. Then go to the outbreak and knock out the pokemon in different patterns for example say you're outbreak has 10 dewott, it's important to save before you knock any of the pokemon. So like I said say you get am outbreak of 10 which will be your best shot cause you'll have more patterns to try. It's also important to engage In battle with the patters desired amount you can't just knock out one by one it's has to be in the same fight. So your first shot will be 2 knock out 2 of 10. (1, 2) 3, 4, 5, 6, 7,8,9,10. 3-10 you catch and 1 and 2 you knock out and you'll have different alphas in the second round. If you don't get the shiny alpha then soft reset your game to where you saved and then you'll knock out 3 and catch 4-10 m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/eaKze6GsfK9-q5o Here's a video that'll explain it better and show you that it works

I got a shiny torterra randomly once, I was headed towards a space time distortion, and literally right before the distortion appeared, the Torterra spawned in. I got lucky and caught it, literally 2 seconds after the space time distortion spawned. I could have failed a shiny alpha Gen 4 starter.

I hunted for Shiny Infernape for the Alpha and I ended up with 50+ phases. So many dupes that I don't need lol this has inspired me to hunt for the three alpha sinnoh starters as well. I'm on Alpha Torterra now and I'm already at 14 phases with 2 other alphas that were not Torterra. I took the time before the hunt to perfect the dex entry for Infernape and Torterra. Need to do Empoleon soon. I do have the shiny charm so shinies are coming out a little faster.

I did a new trick with the massive mass outbreaks to shiny hint alpha goodra and got it adter like 3 hours! Basically if a horde during a massive mass outbreak spawns over an alpha you beat the horde save, than start closing and opening the game. You can search youtube videos up for a better turtorial. I hope I explained it correctly!
