I'd recommend and have recommended this mod. You can steal parked ships at the Red Mile, and I even stole the warlock with this mod. It is very cool.

I love this mod when jacking ships in space but how or what button do I push on Xbox controller to pull up the menu when on the ground? Or to call my ship?

Check for the ship management slate in your Aid menu.
