I am located near the base of Princes St in Cottesloe Perth, Australia. Looking West. I climb to 1200 ft twice and at the end turn to show Princes St which is the location I have used many times in previous Sunset videos.

Great footage. Funny flattard excuse: the "our eyes can only see so far" special pleading. Unsurprisingly they still can't explain why these supposedly limited eyes can suddenly see further when higher up, and in a manner that works as a function of height, and with results that are exactly the same as if the Earth were a spheroid ~12,700km across. :-D

As our friend Mahrai Ziller has pointed out, there's an interesting quirk to FE perspective. As the drone gains altitude, the camera actually becomes more distant from the ships. If distance alone makes things merge into the horizon bottom first (through some mysterious FE version of perspective and the "vanishing point") the farther away you are the more they would merge, yes? Which means that on a flat earth with flat earth laws of vanishing point perspective, the lookout should be on the deck, not up in the crow's nest. See: The Earth is Flat, Rory Cooper says so! It's so awesome that the propellers on your drone move enough air to change the temperature around you, thus altering the atmospheric refractive index enough to make those ships come back over the apparent horizon. That thing must be a beast. Don't stand under it, you'll get blown right out to sea.

I'm very impressed by the steadiness of the camera, especially at altitudes like that. But, of course we know what we'll hear next from the atmospheric lensing perspective special pleaders. To them the crows nests on old ships were simply there to keep up the pretense that sailors were looking further over a spherical horizon. Who knew all they really needed was a zoom lens, right flat earthers?

You live in paradise mate. Yet again another great vid, be interesting to see what the flatties say about this. Their usual excuse is 'the reason the ships disappear is due to the distance and limits of the eye, not a curve' but as the drone gets higher the distance between ship and drone becomes larger, so using their theory we should see no ships and less ocean.. lol

The flat Earth argument that we don't feel the Earth moving at 1,000 miles per hour, I always thought was because we are travelling at a constant speed so you would only notice if we were to suddenly speed up or rapidly slow down, plus if you think about it we have been accustomed to the speed all our lives from birth just like we don't feel the atmospheric pressure of 14lbs per square inch all over our bodies.

Curvature or perspective or something else? I set the mouse pointer at the horizon at take off and observed it dropping as the drone ascended. The horizon did not hold at eye level(theodolite level).

Well done! Especially at around 10:00 where the two ships at the right completely disappear behind the horizon. I'll bet that FE-earthers will react with: "but you didn't zoom in. If you had, they would be in full view again". Ignoring off course that all the other boats are in full view when not zoomed in. And off course ignoring that zooming in doesn't change one bit to the image, it just enlarges it. Thumbs up!

The Earth and ocean are curved. When viewing from lower altitude, the horizon is nearer. When viewing from higher altitude, the horizon is farther. at 5:45 and 8:50 , at the center there is a big ship used as a reference point, but towards the right there are two ships farther away that have silhouettes that pop up above the horizon. at 6:33, those two ships are now somewhere in the middle of the ocean, and the horizon has moved farther away past those two silhouettes which no longer pop up above the horizon, because we now see more of the ocean curvature farther away. at 9:15, the horizon is moving closer, and is beginning to partially obscure those two ships which are farther away.

So many great minds (Santos Bonacci, Marty Leeds and others) have been sucked into this. It has caused massive disruption to a once pretty unified truth seeking movement. I live in Perth too and am proud that someone in my hometown can really prove the Earth is a globe. Sure that he is a cool troll, just for info, perspective doesn't exist as "phenomena", perspective is just a set of rules which uses to simulate the 3rd dimension on a drawing, picture or any 2 dimension support. Perhaps you could add the way of the brain use the information that the eyes give it to create a representation on the world, but perspective doesn't exist by itself.

Are you familiar with this image? upload DOT wikimedia DOT org/wikipedia/commons/4/4f/Staircase_perspective.jpg It looks like some of the lines drawn to vanishing points are actually guide lines and not lines in the final image. Epic! I remember to this day when I learned about perspective. It was a summer art program in my Junior High school roughly 39 years ago, and it blew me away. W... all you are demonstrating is the vanishing point. If you do you a zooming lens from ground level, the ships that disappear will come back into view. Why are those ships visible at all? To someone standing at the shoreline, the horizon is less than 4km away. I have done this experiment a hundred times in Port Philip bay. Port Melbourne is clearly visible in a telescope from Pt Lonsdale. No matter how high you fly, the horizontal is at horizontal eye level... even in your film at 45,000'

+anounceofsaltperday. No my friend. Once again, the Horizon is not at eye level even from 45,000 ft. I see it drop every time I fly clearly in the HUD> If you still can't see how and why that belief is completely wrong then clearly I am wasting your time. Have you seen this video? Perhaps we can when come to Melbourne. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fpyQpZ6viZekndU Can you show me on Google Earth exactly what part of Pt Lonsdale and what part of Port Melbourne you can see?. +anounceofsaltperday. I don't know how to get the point across to you mate. That is a great photo from 135,890 feet but you have NO way to tell how far the horizon has dropped from true level. There is no reference at all. It could be 7 degrees, it could be 10, there is no reference so we don't know. Yes the HUD adjusts for local level that is true - did I not explain what happens when we approach clouds - what happens in the HUD? I thought I did as I have explained it to others many times but if not I will happily do so again for you. All it would take is one flight and you would realize the HUD is an accurate indication of local true level.

Casey Zevenbergen do the same experiment in all directions and the result will be the same, there will be curvature in all directions, as we are a sphere, and not like in a tube... the horizon is not the curve of the earth but the limite of the part of earth that is still visible from each specific point of view, at our altitude there is no geometric reason why we could see a curved horizon. This would be seen only at very high altitudes. You are looking for the wrong thing.

Because you can see about 1/1000th of the full circumference in any direction at these altitudes. It's an approximation but you are demanding way too much from the available scale.
