@Takintomori Жыл бұрын
@cesarreyes6655 you clearly missed the entire point of her arc. Odin did it because he wanted immortal soldiers who would serve him into death and beyond. She did it because she didn't her son to suffer for eternity at the hands if his father. She had the right intentions, but the execution was wrong. She also didn't choose Odin, she was married off to him as part of a treaty to stop him from killing all her people. While not an everyday occurrence, it happened frequently during history. Hell, arranged marriages still happen in some parts of the world
@odinwarlock2436 Жыл бұрын
@cesarreyes6655 The key difference is that Odin never stopped. Odin never tried to do better, and Odin never realized his mistakes. Freya did. You blatantly miss the entire point of her character arc. Odin very clearly did not love his kids. He kills Thor with 0 hesitation. It's not a case of 'men don't need to show emotion because of emotion gay'. Odin literally does not love his kids. Your next paragraph is a non point that hinges on an untrue assumption about how the relationship between men and women works. Lots of women are the ones who work in the family, and lots of women love their husbands/ wives. They don't hate you or want your money. Women aren't a hive mind, and it does not apply to god of war. Freya is a God, a warrior who, on her own merit, is a powerful mage, commander, and queen. Her marriage to Odin was a sacrifice to stop the war. She gave all that up for peace she didn't choose Odin. That is a blatant lie. Of course, she wouldn't like Odin. According to Mimir, she does start to like him until he betrays her and curses her. Again, Freya didn't choose Odin.

Freya had such a fantastic character arc across these two games. From the kindly witch of the woods who nursed Atreus back to health, to grieving mother, to formidable warrior. She was done so well. The scene where she and Kratos unite again was so powerful and moving, and so true to her character. She was angry and grief stricken for the loss of her son, but also no doubt conflicted as Kratos had also saved her life. Even when it comes down to it, she can't kill in cold blood or even for vengeance. It's just not in her nature as portrayed in these games. Her kindness and compassion shine through. I read a comment that said Freya never wanted to kill Kratos. What she really wanted was to force him to kill her. I think that’s most obvious in the first scene of this video. As soon as she saw he wasn’t willing to kill her she stopped fighting

I thinks it's alright for them to ship the two. I hold no grudge against it. Although I did have moments where I thought "hey I think I ship these two"😅, but ultimately I wasn't cool wit it. The people you should worry about is the people who say god of war wasn't a tragic game till 4
@Bananasnotasong2 ай бұрын
As someone who *does* ship them (quietly, in a corner somewhere), I think it would be tragically bad writing to have them enter a relationship where they're at, even at the end of Valhalla. Not enough time has passed for wounds to scar, and not enough experiences have been made outside of combat and peril. Maybe in a century or two. Until then, they're perfect as friends who can lean on each other.

@thejonrezcontent52132 жыл бұрын
The best thing that the developers and writers did to Kratos storyline was that they didn’t recycle his killing spree mission from GOW 1-3, that was all about him and his revenge, a tragic story about brutal killings to every character that was innocent or wronged Kratos. GOW 4-5 is about his redemption, Kratos reconciling to himself and trying his best for the betterment of his son and to the people of Norse Pantheon, even it is kind of awkward after their bloody fight before.
@livinglegend97092 жыл бұрын
God of war 1, ascensions, ghost, and chains were the games that broke kratos down from being human into a monster. At least in these games we can see a small glimpse of his humanity God of war 2 and 3 you saw him as the monster accepted by kratos and used to get his revenge. Only to realize at the end of 3 that none of it was worth it
@allastairvontoussaint51762 жыл бұрын
The scene when she breaks the spell root, the pose she made was the same Kratos did when he loosened the wrappings covering his burnt scars from the chaos blades, and let them go away with the wind. It's interesting that Kratos said "The choice between life and death should have been yours to make. I should not have robbed you of that choice." This is pretty much exactly what Freya did to her son Baldur. She refused to let any harm to come to her son, even if it made his life a living hell until he literally _begged_ her to let him die. I like to think she realized this herself in that moment, which made it easier to make amends with Kratos.
