Clarence is similar to John Lennon of modern Sri Lankan music, a true legend. His creations were out of the World in the '70's . Songs like gamen liyumak introduced a new genre to the listeners. It took years to follow in Clarence's shoes, but I am glad to see creative artists like Senaka Batagoda taking Clara's foundation to the next level.

I met Mr. Fonseka about nine years ago, when his band was performing at the Jaic Hilton..what a down-to-earth character! And no words to explain about Mr. Rukshan and Mr. Nimal! Pioneers of SL pop music..Amongst the puppets who claim themselves as “musicians” , these people should be worshipped as GODS!!!!

It is an excellent idea to bring out the artistic culture to the forefront. Unfortunately, and unlike in most developed countries, in Sri Lanka, the artistic culture is subservient to the religious and nationalistic cultures..
