It's a dream car of mine, the V600 is the ultimate incarnation of the Aston Martin Vantage of that generation. The owner, @zencardriver invited me down to HWM Aston Martin to take a test drive in his 1-of-7 bespoke car with a 600hp NA V12 and titanium exhaust; effectively a GT12 with a manual gearbox. Awesome car I would love to drive that although I would prefer the steering wheel on the left hand side but the gearbox is the same as in a semi cuz there are quite a few 7-speed stat International put out it's just something to get used to hopefully reverse is now supposed to be but normally in most vehicles with worse in that position you have to pull the shifter off or push it down to get it to go into reverse which is helpful

Shmee150 I like the car. However, I feel like Aston should of incorporated 4x4 drive to cope with the 600bhp and to make this car even more special. Maybe I’m wrong ..... maybe I’m right! Henrik Fisker did a good job designing the Vantage 12 years ago, definitely a timeless design. Would never think they were going to revive it like this. Truly remarkable!

The dials are what I miss about the new vantage, it's a jewel of a dial cluster that the new digital displays just can't emulate. What an absolutely stunning car. That sound is incredible. Last of an era with a glorious n/a v12 engine. Well done Shmee on another vid. 👍👌

Tim, this is a fantastic vid for so many reasons! Somewhat of a blast from the past but I was looking, for a particular reason, for a V600 review. Of course Shmee did one - of course Shmee did the best one! But really well done. Informative and descriptive to the smallest detail, but also dripping in the wonderfully infectious enthusiasm of someone unable to hide the fun they were having. There is close to 30 years difference in our ages but certain cars speak to you in ways that transcend the years, the V600 is obviously one of them. This will always be one of my most favorite of all your videos, the first drive in the GT8 being one of the others! Thanks for sharing this car, it will always be a favorite of mine.

This seems incredibly similar to another vantage commissioned by a friend of mine, he had aston Martin build him a manual GT12 "road car" with less crazy bodywork, making it easier to tackle the roads here on the isle of man, makes for an all round awesome package, this almost seems like aston took his idea and perfected it!

Even the standard V8 Vantage is an underrated car in my opinion. Drove one recently and compared with a 580HP 991 Turbo S the amount of drama and excitement that the 400HP V8 Vantage produced far exceeded the joy I felt driving the Turbo S. Quite an incredible feat for a single clutch so called low horse power sports car! 😃

Allen Saunders I dont believe I mentioned car sound once, the Vantage feels a lot more light on it's feet and eager to be thrown around. The Turbo is very heavy and solid feeling, it would be good as a daily driver but lacks the playful nature of the Vantage. Obviously I totally respect your opinion however I should remind you that your argument against my opinion wasn't mentioned in my comment once.

How welll-connected must you be to get one of SEVEN cars made? As for the dogleg, I think it's probably handy to have a short throw between 2nd and 3rd gears - where you'd want to be when going fast on a windy mountain road. I could get used to that in short order.

Great video. I don't understand the confusion with the gearbox though. Surely you can simply ignore the literal gear number you're in and just shift through the gate like any other manual box. Or is there a gear number prompt on the dash which confuses things?
