One of my favorites. The make up is great for both the mummy and Bey.

I'm old enough that I got to watch Sammy Terry's show. He is a true Indiana icon.

So cool that you watched, I have only heard and read about him. I grew up on Son of Svengoolie over the boarder.

@@ChrisConnolly-Mr.C-Dives-In I was lucky. I lived in the northern half of Indiana. Our cable company carried both Indianapolis and Chicago stations, so I got to see both Sammy Terry and the Son of Svengoolie.

This is my all time favorite classic horror movie. It boasts one of the best lines of all times, delivered with mastery..."He,,,he went for a little walk." Followed by a brilliant breakdown of sanity. And Karloff...wow! That dark look from those dead eyes...his imposing skeletal figure, like a scarecrow draped in robes, taller than all who stand around him. I showed this movie to my grandchildren, along with all the old Universal movies, so they could see the progenitors of ALL of these movies today. No mummy has ever been more terrifying than Ardath Bey. We have hoped in vain for a new mummy film that had the same dark terror. Why can't modern directors see the gold mine there, and stop giving us cartoon characters and boring mummies?

Great movie buuuuuut I do prefer the Hammer films, mainly because of the mummy screen-time that you mentioned. I love Pierce's makeup design; I just wish I could see more of it.

The Mummy is another great horror film with a spectacular performance by Boris Karloff. It's a shame, the mummy is shown only briefly throughout the film. This is a pick movie for Halloween. The 1959 version is also quite good with Christopher Lee as the Mummy. The Mummy has launched a legacy including the Mummy sequels, the 1999 remake, sequel and the 2017 version.

Thank you for putting Sammy Terry in this video. As a little kid I did realize that Karloff out of the wrappings was the Mummy. I thought he was another character.

This is my favorite horror romance movie; it's pretty interesting how this wound up influencing subsequent vampire films with its "far-flung romance" theme.

In the realm of mummy movies, I don't really view this as such. I know the title and first quarter are solid mummy material. But it is more of an Egyptian wizard.
