She ( the detective) is merely doing her job. It includes her taking the statement and expiation of what this so called “ mother” had to say. If the detective fails in doing a professional job, then that does not help the case! They already know this child was abused. I am sure they could tell by how she looked physically that she was not being properly cared for. The child may have eaten past etc as the mother claimed. But after not being fed with regularity, that is not unusual to hear the child later vomited her food up! She must have been dying process, even as they were all in the restaurant together!! I am wondering how is it the father of this child had not seen her getting thinner and thinner and she must have looked ill? I know the child did not live with the father. Most adoption agencies don't take children over 4yrs old so it's not always that easy. Foster care is only if they are legally removed from the home. You can't just give up your child to state custody. There aren't a lot of options for ppl with older kids to willingly give them up if they don't have family or friends ready to adopt them. Where would they give them up to? They can't get into foster care unless they are already neglected or abused...

Doubtful CPR was done at all. She probably looked at her daughter & then heard her BF walk in the front door- “Chipotle is here!” And she went running out the bedroom. That’s more likely than CPR. So sad. The mother is a waste of space.

Yeah also CPR or anyone trained, knows that it is done on someone whose heart has stopped beating-I guess she could have done just the breathing. But if your child is vomiting for days, is possibly having seizures, and is all of a sudden incontinent, you take them into or call emergency services asap. This lady didn't want to take her in prob bc she has severe signs of abuse and would be caught...just like she makes up stories why she was bleeding severely from her eye. Conveniently doesn't recall the pediatrician's name or her weight a month or so ago. BS
