I am in my fifties, and I have struggled with these same questions all of my life. I believe in God. However, I do not believe in organized religion. Which was created by man, for man, as a politically motivated behavioral control strategy, utilized in maintaining authority, and dominance, over an immediate population. To my mind, God, is the source of all, AND is also the all, as well. All is God, and God is all. The entirety of the Universe, and existence, in every aspect. Nothing, and no one, is separate from this. We are all a part of the whole. It doesn't matter what we think, or believe. I do not base this opinion upon blind faith, or fear driven hopefulness. Rather, I base it upon the empirical evidence, a variety of different ideas, personal experiences and observations, and as much reason as I am capable of. Albert Einstein was not a religious man, and yet he believed in an afterlife. Or, the continuation of consciousness after the death of the physical body. When asked why he thought this, he replied by saying, "The math proves it." Energy cannot be destroyed, and we are essentially energy. The soul. Except, Einstein would probably have called it a coherent, cohesive, complex, quantumly entangled, energetic, trans-dimensional wavelength of celestial intent... and he would be correct. I am a reincarnationist, myself. I base this upon what should be blatantly obvious; The Universe wastes nothing. CHEERS! 🍻✌

Unfortunately here in Italy there's a widespread tendency to address someone important as "doctor", it's considered a sign of respect based on the silly assumption "if someone is or appears to be an important person, he/she must be a doctor". The abuse of that title is partly caused by the fact that in Italy even the lowest university degree gives you the right to be officially called "doctor", whereas in most other countries you need to have a PhD or something similar.

My own experience started more than 20 years ago and gained a great deal of speed when I started using a bible study program for my home computer. A simple way to get around the word foolery in the translations is to put the ancient words on a line, one sentence at a time. Draw vertical lines between each word and use a concordance to write under the ancient words any English word it has been translated to. You will soon notice a total lack of consistency. Why did the translators use so many different words for the ancient words? They will insist they were using English words to fit the concept of the ancient word, but after a while you notice they were trying to support a theme, as in the one God, made of three personalities and many other doctrines.

@@haixchu I am the son of a Baptist Preacher, so naturally I bought into the Christian stories and the versions my father and others like him taught. The basic problems have to do with the translations and the concept they cannot be in error from the original scripts. Once a person comes to see there are a lot of errors compared to the original, there is no end to the questions that person will ask. Such has been my life and at every turn I was told to either accept the current version of the doctrines and teachings, or go away. A number of years before I watched any of these videos I was asking if Jesus was the offspring of a God and earth woman, what would he be? Obviously he would be like those of the same in the old testament stories and ancient stories of many cultures. King David of Israel killed one of those offspring in a field of battle with a sling and stone and that giant had brothers. Maybe he also had sisters, but that is one area there is no church bible reference for that I know of. There might be in the more ancient stories from those who existed before Abraham's father was even born.

Fundamentalist religious views were ingrained into me, word studies were always done with the religious theme untouchable, a literal translation or explanation would be viewed with suspicion. Paul Wallis approach has given me renewed confidence to dig a little deeper and get comfortable with a literal meaning and not fear it so much.

@@mikolaygrudzien8764 The problem with literal meaning of ancient words is how time changes how words are used. Since each writing was not during the same period in history, or even by the same person, it can be a bit tricky to translate the old words. There are literally thousands of examples of this in the English language. Look at the old bibles and other books written in English from the past and sometimes it can be hard to understand what you are reading. Shakespeare didn't make this better, but made communication an ark form. What I look for is consistency within the writing of each author, knowing how something is communicated could be different from how other authors agreed, or had a different message on the same topic, or issue.

I remember Dr Mauro Biglino from 10 odd years ago. Watched a whole hour of his with subtitles. This is the most interesting thing about the bible, but at the time none of his books were available in English. So glad he's made a reappearance in the english speaking world.

I’ve often wondered about the translations of Hebrew into English for the bible. I highly doubt the translations are spot on. Even the interpretations of the biblical stories are impossible without guidance. I really enjoy listening to Paul,he’s really easy to understand and is brilliant at keeping me focused too. Theology is really interesting, there’s thousands of religions and I’d like to think that only one god. I’m not of any faith personally but definitely interested.

Also, the Oahspe Bible speaks similarly about the Elohim in the Bible and states that fallen angels inspired men to write the creation story in Bible pretending to be god and I believe the leader was named Sughdha. Ok..so…religion is man-made, spirituality is god given. Too many people don’t know that there is a plethora of writings from before the Old Testament , during that period, and after the New Testament. Writings that shed so much light on the subject of The Bible. In modern times…we are only taught 1% of 1% of all those writings. We are literally making a 100% decision on the certainty of the bible on only 1% of the information that is available….and any other writings are blasphemy because it’s not in the bible. We, as a people , have been conditioned to believe what we are told. “ No need to do your own research…because all you need to know is ‘ Inspired by god’ in this here book” why does the god of the Old Testament want his “ chosen people” to cut the bellies of pregnant women and let the baby fall to the ground? Why does the same god tell his “ chosen people “ …after conquering cities..tell the men to keep the virgins for themselves and to slaughter everyone else? If god created the human race, why would he choose to make one nation “ his people” ?

What you call _"The Old Testament"_ is actually the Jewish Scriptures (TNK, or Tanakh nowadays!). But the Christian version has been modified and the books rearranged to better fit their idol (Yeshua). Attached to the New Testament to give it more credibility, to give it a "foundation" if you will. Islam did the same thing. The TNK does not make any sense to you because you all - most of you - learned about it through the Christian prism which is by far one of the most grotesque, irrational and illogical religions to ever perpetuate humanity. Not to mention the number of years where the kings and clergymen were the only ones whose eyes could be set on religious texts (or the death penalty was the charge) and then they also rewrote their own versions (Kings James) so they chose which books were included and which books weren't. Indeed to play into whatever agenda they had in their day. The versions that we have today are by far a far cry from what the original text may have said. There have been many things hidden from us, especially our own true hidden natures.

First I discovered Mauro Biglino and watched him for hours and hours at his public meetings, then I found you and I further satisfied my need for knowledge! Thank you both for the air of freedom you give us! 40 years ago, when I tried to read the book ... I was astonish and tried to make sense at what I could not understand! So as the years went by, the significance became more and more obvious, but I had no one to talk to. From the beginning, I asked the book's experts a few questions, and I received some philosophical answers, such as "you being a woman, you can't understand such an important thing!" This is exactly my first question: if I was made perfect, why am I not allowed to go where men can go? Why am I considered dirty if I give birth to a baby, if I'm perfectly made? I always asked: which parent leaves a basket on the table, full of green apples and a red one to the top of it and says to the children: I'm leaving home, if you eat the red apple I will not love you anymore! They told me this is blasphemy. So I've start to think how sinful I am. Now I am happy to live this times, thanks to you both!

People seem to focus so much on questioning God. It’s an arrogant position to take. Since God is infinitely smarter than we are. You questioning God is more absurd than your pet dog questioning your life decisions. Better to focus on fearing the Lord. It says this many times. Stop asking so many questions and simply live in fear and respect for God. Because he has the power to punish eternally. I believe God is good. But honestly he’s so much more powerful than we are there’s nothing we can do about it if God wasn’t good. I’m not sure what scripture you refer to about God saying you’re perfect. Because the Bible says we’re all flawed sinners. And we sound like immature teenagers questioning our parents when we question God. It’s not a good look.

When I first was married, I sat down and read the bible from one cover to the other. I recognized the distinct difference between the old testament and the new. The people were at first in need of harsh rules much like a child is at time needing them. Later it was not necessary and there was also a difference. Even as a little girl in church the bible as it is now in the church's just didn't make sense to me to many holes in it, and when I would ask questions to just get answers to fill the holes in for me, I was told to never ask questions that I was commenting blasphemy toward God. @@fesinks7691 when I was in church I was full of questions because there's so many gaps in the stories in the bible , and I was always told never question God , or his word because it was blasphemy, but that's supposedly the reason why he gave us free will to ask questions to get answers. I don't think no one is trying to influence anyone's feelings about their god. I mean Paul was a priest himself. Another great video Paul! My area of interest has always been languages, and these days I live in Mindanao Philippines with my Filipina wife. We speak Binisaya (Cebuano) and Tagalog (Filipino) as well as English. A minor correction to your pronunciation of the word "Tagalog". It is actually "TA-GA-LOG" and oh yes I know the etymology! "Taga" means "come from" or "hail from", and the second part of the word is a contraction of "ilog" which means "river". So the bird in the legend literally "Comes from the river"! The people who live in the area around the Pasig River in the region of Manila are known as "Tagalog", and it was their language which was chosen as the basis for the national language known as "Filipino" these days. Of course most Filipinos call the language "Tagalog". I made the same mistake in pronunciation that you did when I first encountered the language! "Taga" has the same meaning in Binisaya. My wife is a Higaonon tribeswoman. Her tribe is the Taga Kagayanon Higaonon. "Kagay" means "brown coconut", "-an" signifies "place" and "-on" "people" in Binisaya, while in Binukid (the tribal language of the Higaonon) "higa" means "living", "goan" means "mountains" and "onon" means "people". So, they are literally "the people of the living mountains from the place of the brown coconuts"! The creator in Higaonon is called "Magbabaya" which literally means "the one who is in charge/in control/who lords it over". Two other beings were involved in creation, one supplying materials, and the other adjudicating between Magbabaya and the other being. Beneath Magbabaya are the Migbaya. These are equivalent to the "diwata" in Binisaya and the "anito" in Tagalog. They are spirits who control things like rivers, forests, the ocean, the weather, crops and harvests, and so on. The first man and woman were Natanyag and Natanghaga, and they were offered the fruits of the Kalintubo, the Tree of Life in the Baya. There is even a flood story where only one man and one woman survive. These stories predate the Spanish Conquest. There are many similarities to the well-known Middle Eastern myths. Note that the first man and woman are OFFERED the fruits of the Tree of Life. There is no mention of sin. What is an interesting parallel is that there is a dispute between Magbabaya and the being that supplies the materials, and it resolves in animals being created by the second being, and Magbabaya creating humans. This sounds similar in a way to the Sumerian stories, where there was also a dispute.

I'm from the Bible belt South Carolina. I'm 50 years old and always knew there was something not being told to me. People ask me, you know, what is your domination. I never knew. I would just tell people I followed the teachings of Christ. That's all I knew to tell them. Many people ask me certain questions and I will give them my answers. And they would go to scripture and show me where I was right. But yet I had never read the Bible. Everything that I believe in came from the heart. And after being told so many times that what I was saying was in the Bible. I picked it up and read some. I don't know how I knew I just did. Some people said that I was sent here to spread the word. But then I question myself why I would somebody like me that been to hell and back, become or be the man/person to spread the word. Because I've not led the holiest of lives. So anyway, I went on this journey and trying to figure out what my faith was and it ran parallel with gnostics. That episode awakened me. I had grown up with a moderately religious family, I went to an Anglican private school and did Bible & religious studies every week in school. I'm now 40 and since school I hadn't had much to do with religion, as I felt it only lead to indifference to identify as something...... especially when I met people of other nationalities whom I wished to learn about their culture and beliefs? By not identifying with a religion meant people were more open to me, rather than putting me a rigorous unlearning conversion therapy type scenario lol. From the year 2000 through till when I watched that video clip I mentioned I was agnostic I guess you could call it? I wasn't an atheist, I hadn't lost faith or become disenchanted or cynical or looking for something else to replace the beliefs..... I just become more open to finding out what others believed? But then the epiphany changed everything! It actually put missing pieces into place and fixed things in my mind that my religious teachers couldn't explain or would just attribute it to lost context in translation perhaps? All it did was frustrate me about why they would create a book for us all to follow that was so confusing and contradictory at the same time? I was always told that they were updating the Bible all the time so that it made more sense blah blah blah I hadn't realised I remembered all of this until I watched that clip. So it's safe to say that your teachings via KZbin has possibly restored some of my beliefs in religion and gives more basis to the truth that some of these events did actually occur and that it's not just some book of made up stories? When it underscores information and marks it with a red Sharpie 'these events really did occur and are facts throughout the history of many cultures' Far out can you imagine if the Bible had annexed notes and references to information outside the Bible for verification and further reading? Or online like Wikipedia with embedded links to intimation? Can you imagine how many people would actually read the Bible then? Not just read it parrot fashion like a child in school, but actually make it interesting and interactive for people to want to engage in the content? It's because of the not addressing the conflicts of interest in the scriptures that had me dismiss it as a compilation of made up BS, when the truth is that it's NOT BS! Now at age 75, raised in the Catholic faith I came to believe 40 years ago that Catholicism was a means to scare "the people" into obedience , one phase or part of which was to support the priest no matter the poverty experienced by those over which the pastor held the threat of damnation. I think "the tower of babel" had a deeper meaning than people suddenly speaking french, spanish and english to each other. Where did you get the Tagalog myth of the hawk-creature? I am a Tagalog. I love pre-colonial history and how emotionaly charged our language is. Tagalog is merely from the river. Our people used waterways as a way of life--transport, food, trade, settlement protection, semi-nomadic living--- so the "from the river" literal meaning is most appropriate to name a people since our it described our ancient way of life.
