Michael Meyden, the Oregon dad accused of spiking smoothies for his daughter's friends at a sleepover, has had the terms of his bail modified. But we've only heard about the one daughter, yet "children" implies more than one child, and it would be extremely difficult to repair a relationship with said children if they're minors and there's a protective order restricting contact, which is fairly typical in cases like this. That's why I'm wondering if there are adult children, because they are the only ones he'd be legally allowed to contact.

It's important to remember that everyone is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. While there's a very strong likelihood that he's guilty, if you were to jail everyone without bond on accusation the jails would be flooded. You have to let people out until they're *proven* guilty otherwise you are paying to keep people who may be innocent or at least that you consider innocent in jail. With felony murder cases it's different as there are fewer of them and denying bond has an evidentiary standard, if I remember right. Remember that everyone is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Could have been something FAR stronger, and considering the man's behavior around the smoothies and the fact the girl in question was the only one who didn't drink more than half the smoothie, its likely it was a high dosage. Benzos are extreme depressants, they depress certain neurological activity, including *breathing functions*. It is decently likely, I'd say like 10-20% likely, that at least one of the children could have died, or overdosed, particularly the girl who had ~1.5 of a smoothie, the one who finished off the other girl's smoothie.

My children came up with a way to opt out of a sleepover at any point. They would call home, asking us to deliver a specific item to them. We would arrive without said item, seemingly annoyed about having our evening disrupted and tell them that they had to come home. We live in a small town and I'm certain that even decades later, some people see us as crazy, overbearing parents but, our kids grew up knowing we were always there for them. That's all we ever cared about.

My best friend in elementary and middle school's parents would never let her stay the night over any of our friends houses. Even took them years for them to finally allow her to stay the night at my house. Hazarding a guess: The defendant will likely violate the terms of his bond, leaving his allowed GPS zone. He will _THEN_ be placed in custody. This whole thing seems like a work around for the prosecution, who don’t have the authority to have him detained.
