Shockwave is probably the only role play toy from Generation 1 to never get any debate about what his replacement alt mode should be. Probably because he doesn't need any discussions, his evolution is logical.

I think Siege Shockwave is the best iteration of him as a toy. You can still have him turn into a space gun (Though no usable by anyone), and add on the extra bits and he can look a lot more like a space warship, plus being a scientist it feels fitting for these parts to attach as extra weaponry.

Completely agree. I didn't like him when I got him, side effect of the change in Leader Class I think, but he's become a favorite over the years and I just really enjoy it conceptually.

Yes he's really cool, one of my favorites from Siege, although he was overpriced considering he was a small-ish Voyager class with some extra bits (although admittedly they were cool bits) and they priced him as a Leader class. I also like that you can combine the extra bits into a guardian drone of sorts, which is just the sort of thing Shockwave would do back on Cybertron. The MP is still very nice too though. I think it has aged pretty well, for it being an older MP. It has a simple but fun transformation and he still looks pretty cool in my season 1 & 2 Decepticon display. 😁

I have a gunmetal grey version called Electronic Magnum, which, at the time, I preferred to the TF design (apart from the trigger, which I wans't thinking about).. Unfortunately, I once took the barrel off too fast and broke it.

That sounds really cool actually. Very different tone to the Transformers toy. I've never actually handled the original toy, with that break, is it unusable?

@@SGD_ToysDownUnder I can't remember. It's in storage. I think it was fine as an action figure, but it couldn't do the lights and sounds. But maybe it could, since only the barrel of the gun replacing his hand was removed, and the exposed end didn't cause any harm. I pay $200 every month on a storage unit, but I live in a tiny apartment in NYC and can't afford to go back to it and don't have space to bring the stuff here. It makes me sad. Anyway, one reason I don't know is that it was so noisy that I often had to take the battery out to appease my parents.

One thing I remembe is that the manual said "down ears," with "down" functioning as a verb, clearly a bad translation. I wouldn't have thoucht of the things on the sides of Shcokwave's head as ears, but that's what the person who wrote the manual thought they were.

Back in the 80, i used to love the insecticons and dinobots, those were close to their cartoon design, anything else was disappointing, oompa loompa proportions

I'd have to have a real good think about it. I think maybe a series of drones would suit them, but I have my doubts it'd make for a good toy.

3 Decepticons changing into an iPhone 😂 Honestly I love the fact that some Transformers change into outdated objects, like Soundwave, the cassette bots, and Reflector. Random kid: LOL your alt mode is straight out of the stone age Ratchet: Who is he talking to? Grimlock? Wheeljack: No, Blaster. Poor bot.

Honestly so hype for legacy tidal wave cause I love the battle ship and dark fleet alt mod. Also I think wfc armor made sense shock wave is many time refer to as a mad scientist that more time then not Meg doesn't even trust. So shockwave adding armor for himself to betray Meg make sense. So I never got the hate it got.

Hard transition. Voyager plus extra bits sold at Leader was a new concept at the time. I felt that way at the time, but it's aged really well and my favourite Shockwave toy now.

Honestly I'm fine with almost anything for Shockwave, but I'm not a big fan of the spider tank or "space-brick-nothing"

I don't like the Spider Tank either, but I'm not huge on mixing Shockwave and Tarantulas. Space Brick Nothing, you mean the Authentics or Cyber Battalion toys?

Still just under 1000 view hours before I can have ads in the videos, but I can have super chats and memberships now. Still, rocketed up 3/4s of the way in about a month, shouldn't be much further now. :D

@@foyoGames Yep. It's a bummer this video didn't do too well. I think it's got bad packaging. Name and thumbnail probably needed more work.
