I have three of them. One for my son and one that I have charged up in case mine runs out of battery in the middle of a long workout or if I forget to charge one pair. They announced a Openswim Pro coming out in Q2 or Q3 of this year. Supposed to have 32GB and Bluetooth (for land) so you can use them on land instead of just in the water. I don't know if I'll get the Pro since I already have other earbuds for outside the water. These will probably come down in price when the Pro releases.

After running and cycling in open headphones I can't see myself going back. I never went full volume anyway but the ability to hear what's up is pretty key to me. That would be epic if they'd combine the mp3 and bluetooth, I'd happily sell my OpenSwim and OpenRun just to have one device. And I hear ya about the charging, I've got my charger set just by the door, so when I'm done they go straight back on it :)

its a pitty they have no BT and the internal storage at the same time - I was looking for something I can use while swimming and cycling (with BT connectivity while cycling so I can listen to on-line media...).
@JakeOski10 ай бұрын
I agree! I've ended up owning both - OpenSwim and OpenRun Pro for that reason but it looks like they'll release OpenSwim V2 later in the year with both mp3 and BT - I'll defo get a pair and drop a review here. This way I can shift both of the other ones.

Problem with not using ear plugs is that the sound of water moving past and in your ear dampens the sound clarity. With ear plugs, the sound is actually quite good. Think good headphone sound just muffled a bit. The bass is strong and the treble is a bit muted. Especially on longer swims, they’re a must for me now.
@JakeOski8 ай бұрын
I've tried this last week, it does sound better when they're fully in! However, with my oddly shaped ears most plugs pop out quickly. Including surf ears I've used forever when surfing. Need to deep dive into better ones I guess!

I bought the OpenSwim Pro model and went for my first swim with them last week. I was BLOWN AWAY.... I did not expect them to be so freakin' good. These are nearly perfect. It would be nice to have a playlist editor for the mp3s, but that is it's only shortfall.

They're really good, I've went through a number of headphones and mp3 players over the years and Openswims are definitely the best I've tried. Plus the build quality is top notch so they'll last.

Hello, thanks for the comments. I have a critical question. I tried the headphones in the store but the back is a bit loose, will this cause a problem while swimming? While other shokz models have a mini size, the swim model does not. Should the back be loose while swimming?

I've been swimming laps with OpenSwim Pro and they're the best thing since sliced bread! Sounds great using MP3 function as well as Bluetooth. I also have Klipsch sport earbuds that sound fantastic, but I find that I usually just keep using the OpenSwim set for convenience. You forget they're on and I like not being cut off from the rest of the world as I go about my day after the swim. See a lot of griping about the special charging cord. I don't agree. It attaches itself when they're close enough, charges quickly. I store it and headset in the nice zippered pouch that comes with it. I've had them for 3 mos now and can't think of one thing to complain about. If you swim regularly, get them.

Hi I have a question, do you can keep these fully submerged in water for hours if you wanted to? Also you mentioned Bluetooth and I’m wondering if Bluetooth works while swimming, thanks 🙏🏽

@stove2636 I have no experience submerging them for hours, so I can't answer that. Bluetooth doesn't work when headset is submerged.

The band that goes behind your neck is what really takes my attention due to it being possibly taken off by the water when you are diving, I'm planning to buy it to use it during swimming competitions so I could get myself hyped up when swimming, I'd like to know if it stays on if you dive head first into the water in a streamlined position and with currents caused by constant heavy splashing when doing some swimming strokes.
@JakeOski6 ай бұрын
I can't tell if they'll stay when diving from a certain height but given that they're staying on my head during pretty significant wipeouts when kitesurfing and surfing I'd say so!

Just tried and it works fine - actually, the music is louder that way too :) Same effect as when using ear plugs. The back bit goes under the cap but the ears can easily be covered 🤙🏻

@@bazslade6456 I don't know what to say, but that hasn't been my experience at all. They work fine for ocean swims, but in the pool they just don't seem to be able to handle the flip turns, at least for me, and I'm no longer 20 so my speeds, and distances, are reduced. (5/6K every day is a great distance!) For the pool I use the Finis Duo. They attach to the goggle straps and therefor don't have any problems with flip turns.
