Probably the best Ryan’s kzbin.infoUgkxGZedDTcDfgD7fG_uU4esfx_EgxzlY2_1 Plans on building a shed is hardly ever found. And Ryan takes the mystery out of different types of foundation options, etc. He even shows how to build a shed with different designs. Very comprehensive, covering different roofing materials, siding, etc.

Just have a door hinged going up on the spider hole exit. Make it harder for creatures to get in there but easy for you to get out. Or at least a cage over it .

This book is a comprehensive guide for anyone who wants to create various types of garden buildings. The book provides clear and detailed instructions with numerous photos. kzbin.infoUgkxBE-xSmFU7PIaMFUmmhnFxE035s5svtxeAs a novice, I appreciated the book's step-by-step approach to the basics of building. The book also appeals to the more advanced DIY enthusiast with projects ranging from simple to complex. The book is up to date with the latest trends, such as solar panels, green roofs, and sweet chestnut shakes. The book has inspired me to pursue more projects in the future.

Sooo Kev. Build a cantilevering door for the exit that can be opened from inside the spider hole. That way critters can't get in and when you need to exit it you set it to open. You've already got ventilation built into the spider hole so the exit doesn't need to be opened and exposed. Could even make the exit door look like the rock pile around it. Even more of a stealthy spider hole.

Ok I just imagined a racoon standing outside of the entrance with his legs crossed, saying to his mate "Oh no, who locked up the toilet, I'm about to burst here" then later another one turns up, newspaper under the arm ready to do his business, when suddenly a turbo cart shoots out the hole and .....helps him go ;)

You should install a pullup bar above that hole and try going feet first into it onto the sled. Might make it easier to use, plus its generally better to go feet first rather than head first! Super neat project, though I would have been crazy spooked when Don yanked that pin!

It is a great idea to go "head first" on the sled, it reduces the chance of a limb being trapped. Word to the wise, that wire rope will cut through the pipe after sufficient rubbing -- your application is rather similar to something I did to make a log lifter this past season for my homemade woodslitter, and after lifting around 11 cords it failed. Excellent video, sorry about the poop. Garbage Pandas are everywhere!

Where you're hole is pull your cart out and mix up 1/2 one half cup of Garlic powder in a 2 litter plastic bottle of warm water and get a squart bottle and spray it all around in the hole, and it will get rid of all creatures even mice.

A little too tight in the emergency spider hole exit and maybe a bit claustrophobic. Not sure if their is enough room for you or any adult to wear a helmet, but maybe if the sled was more bullet/ bobsled shaped and easier to slide in feet first. With a bar above the doorway of the emergency so you can slide into the sled instead of awkwardly crawling in.

Well, now you need and auto pin latch release so you can use it alone. Like a pin through a gate latch, a spring and cable release? Simple, but may be difficult to use in such a small space to keep the release cable from getting tangled on ejection. Maybe a a long horizontal pin release mounted on the side. Just push out and go. And a proper metal crimp fastener for the bungee. Also, you know to store it un-tensioned. Again, my 2 cents . . . and with inflation, you know what it's worth.
@thomlindgren6253 Жыл бұрын
Great video. I have to take drugs for am MRI so I think that route would kill me. I think your release pin needs a little work but the light use wheels are a big plus. You seem to really love ‘THE RED ROCKET’ name but it does have other slang meaning other than riding a sled through a tunnel. I have asked if anything moved in or tried to move in… I guess a wildlife bathroom facility counts as moving in. A knot h on the inside door and a more secure outside cover and your all set. Thanks for sharing!

I'd recommend welding a socket on the shaft for the winch, because then you could use a hex drive on the drill, and a ratchet wrench so you have a manual option that doesn't have to go all the way around like a crank.

Did you lose some clearance with the bigger wheels and redesign of the track?
@chillaxter13 Жыл бұрын
The problem I see is the mounting point. You don't necessarily need more tension, it just needs to anchor outside the tube. A small guide plate to protect from wear as it transitions from tunnel to ground would be needed, and a mounting/anchor point about 2 to 3 feet outside the culvert. You could look into winch or crane quick releases for the mechanism, and it wouldn't hurt to have a winch mechanism with a little stronger mechanical advantage, but not really necessary. A hinged gate covering the entrance would be a good idea, as well as a front plate for the sled (for human ingress prevention) would also be good.

So any plans to deal with the mesh over the tunnel if you need to get out in a hurry but haven't had time to take it off? Realize this is just for fun, but the thought was in my head. Depending on how securely that thing is on there hitting it at speed would likely hurt.
