I try to stay at least 12 yards back and always wear eye protection. You asked what is the "safest distance", I would answer by saying the further back the better. Hope this helps....Thanks

Yes I'm going to tear down the shed to the left one of these days and all the tires are filled with berm dirt. On the bullets, they fall downward right under the steel if the targets are angled properly. Thanks
@bigdaddyhoffman191112 жыл бұрын
That's a good idea on the motor oil. I filled mine with berm dirt and have no problems with mosquitoes. Thanks for the info my friend.

That set up you have at your range is better than many public ranges I have been to. It looks great and is obviously effective. Thanks for the close up tour.

Haven't had that problem and it's been up for several years now. Thanks

I like the setup Bigdaddy,excellent video,those tires are serving their purpose big time.I personally already knew what those are for.Anytime you smack solid plate steel with a bullet that's moving well over 1,000 feet per second,you will have bullets exploding everywhere.

I love the range, friend. Simple, safe and fun. Thanks for sharing.

When I've done that with tires in the past I drilled them so they didn't hold as much water. That also made it easy to snake rope through them to keep them tight against each other and the wind from moving them around. I suppose another option would be to dribble a little used motor oil in each one so it creates a sheen on any water that collects. That should make it inhospitable to mosquitoes.

Great range,Big Daddy! Your video and a few others,like Hickok45 have inspired me to build my own range. I have 10 acres that I live on,and i'm working on my own range...... It's great to be able to walk out your back door,to your own shooting range. Thanks for the ideas,and inspiration!!! Keep up the good work!!!

one of the best ranges out there. do you have any issues with mosquitos or water standing in the tires causing mosquitoes ..Just wondering I use to work at a tire shop where water would get inside and mosquitoes would lay their larva or eggs..
@arridedry12 жыл бұрын
shooting directly at tires is not a good idea, because of tire bounce back. Big Daddy i think you have a safe range, and it looks cool too!!! Always good videos!!!!

You ever have to spray them tires down for skeeters? Seems like any old tire laying around my place become a breading ground for them. I like the way your range is set up...I think most of us would love to have that in our backyard :O)

How about a few drops of fresh cooking oil instead Bigdaddy,that would take care of the mosquito issue while being biodegradeable at the same time.
