I own the tripod model without the trigger system. Before setting out, I preset the legs to the proper shooting height and then walk along using the folded tripod as a walking stick. When I see my target, I simply flip out the pre-set legs and I'm good to go. Under prolonged adverse field conditions, I seen hunters having issues with the trigger system tripod. Keep in mind this comparison is based solely upon the standing position for shooting. When I shoot from a sitting position, I have to readjust the leg height of my tripod.

I thought I was going to have to research these different types for at least a couple of hours but you did all the work for me. Thank you sir!

I was about to buy a tripod but this convinced me to look more into the Primos Trigger Stick tripod, which I have ordered.

Hi Mark, you will not regret it. I use mine all the time now. Wouldn’t be without them.

Just bought one of these from midway for $100 bucks. Can't wait to use it on the field.

How are you going with it 5 months on? Do they collapse to sitting height? Seemed in the vid you can only use them standing?

Overall I still love it. If I ran over it with my truck, I'd go out and buy another. In fact the new models have a leg locking feature. Might be worth looking into. The one I'm using in the video is the larger 62inch (I think). Not good for sitting. I would look at this one for sitting: www.primos.com/products/trigger-sticks/trigger-stick-gen-3-short-tripod/ So, final summary....no regrets. Still going strong.

Ok great. Yeah the shorter one might suit me better. Did a bit of a google search and found it difficult to find a stockist here in Oz. Will keep searching. Cheers for the review. Very informative.

make longer sticks? ive got a homemade pair that are 1.8M tall when folded and i can comfortably stand or sit with them, just open them wider to make them sit lower...tripods are great but are heavier, sometimes harder to set up depending on terrain and can sometimes be noisy. both types have their place in different scenarios but to say you dont like sticks because they are too short is a bit daft when you made them too short yourself.

Thanks for taking the time to comment. Actually at the time the displayed aluminium garden stakes were the tallest available to me. I personally found them annoying. Carrying a 1.8m pair would not be practical for me hunting in bushy areas. They get caught up too easy. After spending money on different tripods I found the Primos lightweight, smooth as silk, quiet as a mouse(I actually hunt rats with this tripod) and one finger application sold me. It's the case of the big "C". Convenience. But, as you said, each has it's different applications.

I was on the fence about the Bog Pod vs Primos. This helped me decide. Now tripod vs shooting sticks is my next dilemma. Primos is pronounced Pre - Moos

Excellent review, helped me a lot for making a decision. Also the last tripod is pronounced "Primos" say it like "pre-mos". Say moss then take out one s then you have Primos
