IMHO, as long as the car's badge has the letters IMPREZA WRX, the respective owner is mostly guaranteed SATISFACTION and SMILES EVERY MILE s/he drives it... it doesn't matter whether it's GC8, BUGEYE, BLOBEYE, HAWKEYE, STINKEYE... leave that to the onlookers to decide... You can't look at your car when you're driving it anyway but most importantly you achieve the inner satisfaction only a Scooby driver/owner can appreciate 🏆

Oh and yes, I own a SUBARU IMPREZA WRX, a MITSUBISHI EVOLUTION, a TOYOTA CELICA GT4. All 3 cars are great machines and a legend in their respective eras and I respect+appreciate their respective owner's enthusiasm in their wheel of choice. All 3 have their respective strengths and weaknesses. However, subjectively to me, until today, I still look forward to driving my Impreza every day (it's my daily driver too). My Celica becomes my weekend ride and I sold my Evo to a more appreciative owner (a hardcore Evo enthusiast, of course 👍) because the Evo always demanded me to be a Tommi Makkinen wannabe every time I drive it 😈 🤦

I just picked up a 02 WRX sport wagon. Bone stock for 2 grand. Ran terrible, check engine light, and no boost to speak of. Did a oil flush (chunky) and spark plugs. Runs like a top. Hit up the rust with some reformer and it's ready to go.

@@octavionunez8466 it was 9000 but it was 1 owner with all service records and receipts plus it only had an invidia catback. But you can find a clean bugeye for about 5-6 thousand. I take offense at the statement "... every early 2000s radio was absolute garbage." My 2003 Jetta Wolfsburg sound system - including tape deck - stomps the stock sound in my 2017 WRX. I still own both cars so this comparison is baby sh*t fresh.
@damilolaakanni9 ай бұрын
Lexus had good sound systems in the 2000's, especially the Mark Levinson sound system in the LX and GX. Our 2003 GX470 came with that sound system, and apart from a blown speaker in the third row (which we hardly used), it was great.

I'm about to grab either a bug eye or blob eye in 2022 but I'm wondering if I should just consider money for an engine/tran swap immediately given most are around 200k miles on them without crazy modifications already done to them. Is mileage just a number if you can salvage/rebuild the engine or easier to grab a low mileage sti and swap?

One of the last muscle cars. Subaru put in a strong motor on an awd frame and didn't care about the interior. It only has what you need. They still mostly don't care about interior compared to other companies. *Performance* > Luxury. That's what you pay for with Subaru.

Had a really really beat one as a first car, great first car, teaches you how to drive fast while also pretty much being dummy proof, they teach you how to work on cars for sure🤦♂️🤦♂️😂😂but honestly in terms of a first car, I think it’s a great first car, easy to drive, lots of visibility, easy to learn how to drive fast, teaches you how to work on cars, a lot of cons too of course, including outrageous insurance, my 2000 mustang gt is $77 for insurance and I’m 19, my wrx was $240 a month
@basiaturner46594 жыл бұрын
marczmartin a good first car is one you’re not really afraid to crash in. So really a bigger vehicle 😂 my first car was a old f150 even if you just get it for like 1000 and drive it for a little over half a year and sell it then get another car. It’s good to learn before getting in something smaller.
