My stepfather (Steelers fan) took me to this game. We were walking through the parking lot heading to the ticket window and heard a little kid ask "who needs tickets?" This kid was seriously like 10 years old and sold us 2 40 yard line seats for $40. We were about 15 rows behind the Vikings bench - which was awesome for a fan like me. Then seeing this beat down was the icing on the cake. Great memory. Thanks for uploading this.

Funkydunkleman continues to let me relive my childhood -- many thanks! I remember this game still for 2 reasons: 1) Cowher blows up and shoves the picture into the ref's shirt. 2) Jack Del Rio's sweet ass lateral to Orlando Thomas.

Weird season. That club was only 8-8 but against an absolutely brutal schedule. They were better than a lot of those Green teams that made the playoffs.

Dennis Green was a heck of a offensive mind and a great talent scout. Always had a good eye for wideouts. He picked moss and Carter. If he ever had some consistency at qb instead of the carousel of veterans he might of got a ring.

Robert Smith fumbling the ball was extremely rare. and that's what really separates him from the likes of Adrian Peterson, Chuck Foreman & Bill Brown Brown: 54 fumbles Foreman: 52 fumbles Peterson: 39 fumbles Smith: Are you ready for this? 9 fumbles. ONLY 9 !!!

You guys are probably right. I remember him saying in an interview when asked the obvious question of why he retired, he said “It’s better to walk away early than to limp away late.” And 9 fumbles, sometimes players fumble that many times in just one year.

Steelers QB Tomzac was a turnover machine. He was good for 1-2 picks a game consistently. You had no idea at the time that with Woodson out and O Donnell out for several games this Steelers team would get hot and lose the SB.

@Loren Heaton Fake news. Zimmer blames himself regularly. Also, he wouldn't be top 5 in win percentage over the past 5 years if he was regularly outcoached.
@purplepainforums1216
@purplepainforums1216 5 жыл бұрын
@Loren Heaton Besides this year, when did Zimmer's teams not meet/exceed your expectations? Bringing up Pederson/Foles is laughable when they beat the GOATs in the Super Bowl just two weeks later. Let's not pretend we lost to a scrub team. Also, in case you forgot, Keenum was also a backup QB. Zimmer has a new starter at QB every year - ya know, the single most important position in sports. Name me a coach/team who has done more under those same circumstances over the past several years.
@purplepainforums1216
@purplepainforums1216 5 жыл бұрын
@Loren Heaton I agree that this year was a failure, but again I ask, what other seasons did Zimmer's teams not meet/exceed your expectations? I bet they did. Zimmer is a Top 5-10 coach, without question. Don't be so quick to assume the grass is greener. We see coaches being fired after a year or two all of the time. The grass isn't always greener. We're in win now mode, so let's let Zimmer/Spielman do their thing with their $84 million QB and see what happens.
@swapsplat
@swapsplat 5 жыл бұрын
@Loren Heaton Yeah, let's just forget about the fact that he's had a GARBAGE offensive line for 3 years now. Spielman deserves more vitriol that Zimmer does. It's funny how you say he gets out coached damn near every week, yet last season he got to the NFC Championship game with a carousel of trash QBs. Where are any of the 3 QBs he had last season? 1 is a back up in New Orleans, 1 is playing TERRIBLY in Denver, and the other one was thrown in the trash in Phoenix.
