Max was my initial contact at CFB when I made my first visit as a new fly fisherman a little more than a year ago. I would have never guessed he was so new at the time. Super helpful, great videos, never made me feel like an idiot. Great hire, Charlie!!

I remember when Max was a new face in the shop and confirmed he knew my name from my online orders. Great customer service. Thanks Charlie and team for creating a healthy low-ego environment for learning. No bull. Just about that action, boss.

So that was a good gut feeling, Max comes across with a "Co-owner" attitude. Not only does he want education in the industry but he wants to educate others. His reports from the river or his product reviews online promoting items at Charlie's Fly Box are outstanding. Sometimes when a person walks in a shop they want to be helped and put at ease by a "cool dude" and that is what Max comes across as. After just 2 years he has advanced quickly and a lot of that is to his drive, commitment, and willingness to learn from others. I hope he keeps the passion and stays at Charlie's Fly Box for many more years to come. Let's face it, having an ex girlfriend was a benefit to him in his pursuit of Fly Fishing and no doubt he could get another but that would screw up his time on the water. Keep after it Max.

Don't worry max, Im closer to Charlie's age and still skate and fly fish! When you're my age though the adage is, if you can't ollie up it you shouldn't try to ollie off it, lol! If I aint creekin I'm curbin!

Matt Winkler and Tim Drummond are two that come to mind!! Matt is one of the fishiest dudes I’ve ever met and his flies reflect that. His commitment to perfection really left an impression on my in the time I worked with him. Tim’s flies always stand out in the bins as being purpose driven and utilitarian while remaining aesthetically pleasing which is a tough act to pull off!
