Glad to hear that there are others that still prefer a dry fly to a dry-dropper during the dry fly season. You can't beat the "smack" of a trout on a dry! I am 79 and still get excited when the dry gets smacked.

Used to stop in and see Steve K. at Rocky Mountain Dubbing when I lived in Riverton in the 80s. Really good bleached yearling elk for stimulators! Also, enjoy listening to Charlie's old school stuff like no dry droppers when you can just catch a few less fish on dries.

Just read joe humph’s book on trout tactics. Up here in the Georgia mountains we nymph in the winter, spring dry flies, Sumer & fall dry’s and terrestrials, check your water temps for where and what to fish. And I agree dry’s are king. Best on one of my 6’ 4wt DT split bamboo rods I make and sell.

Would like to see an episode on wading rods. You mentioned in this video that one rod was good for the boat but not wading. I do a lot of wading and am interested in wading rods and the differences between using a 3,4,5 and fast vs medium.

I live up in Summit County and don’t get down to the shop as much as I’d like to. However, as soon as I walk into the shop, I’m greeted with a bunch of very friendly knowledgeable faces. Who sincerely seem to be as excited that i’m there as I am. I completely understand why this shop has become so successful. Not only do you have pretty much everything you can ask for but hey, you have Charlie freaking Craven as well. Thanks again for a very entertaining and informative video Mel

Depends a bit on what you’re doing with it (streamers, dry/dropper, indicator nymphing etc) but I really like the Airflo Universal Taper on my five weight. An SA Amplitude infinity would be a good bet too. CC
