At 16:20, I fell in love with the oil painting of a boat sailing at night. Love at first sight. You were looking at the fire plug in red & black. ** Heavy Sigh ** FYI, I, too loved the fun colors & pattern of that old suitcase.

The Navajo rug is all natural ... both wool and dye. .. it looks like a child’s weave based on size and the unevenness of the waft thread. But 26 dollars.... that was an amazing price and it was in sound condition. Unfortunately, all natural rugs are not as desirable these days because the designs look rougher than a commercial yarn rug ( plus the color choices are much more vibrant than vegetable, rock, and plant dyes). However, old school Navajo weavers ... like my mother in law... still create rugs using traditional methods. Thanks George... for always creating such wonderful content. You always share such great information.

It’s amazing how you’re able to juggle all these communications at once ,,,,,lovely and very interesting items,,,,I think the. Older Navajo blankets have a tighter weave Because the loom was vertical,,,,,,
@bluemesa95293 жыл бұрын
All Navajo looms are vertical 😎... however... even the portable ones traditional weavers use in the back of pick up trucks herding sheep❤️

I always find it interesting when people refer to Penguin servers as “ice buckets”. At family dinners during the 50s and 60s, there were lots of them at every family get together, holding anything from baked beans to potato salad….never ice! I actually never thought to use one as an ice bucket until the 90s. I have two now - my mother’s from the 50s, and mine from the 70s. The composition of the handles changed over the years, but nothing else. Every time I use mine, it brings back so many memories of people who are now gone.

I remember asking mom why are there so many if these at family reunions. Lol. Now several of us buy & give as gifts or & also collect. Remember my niece asking a few years ago what is the deal with those things, am I supposed to have one. Told her yes. Lol. Apparently grandma & grandpa gave them to everyone one Christmas. Always filled with great food, not ice.

Hi Georgie! Thanks again for a fun and informative video. Just wanted to share what I do when I get a notification for your new video. As a reseller I hate the part of polishing my brass, silver or plate items I want to sell. So I put the 2 together and while watching your vids I polish my stuff. Win, win all the way around.

Hey George! Like the marbles. We have five or six decanters of marbles my dad had as a child. There are several clay ones in the mix, too. I like those globes with the bases. I used to have one that was a bar. That seemed a really good price on the Staffordshire piece. Loved the embalming table. Elderberry syrup is really good... Hey!, I saw my Dr. Pepper card! OMG! I would've went wild with the old escutcheon plates! How much was the spelter lamp? That thing was fantastic and would've captured my attention really quickly! I have one of the 1950's Juice-O-Mats, and it is the best juicer I've ever found. I also have one of the globe banks with the airlines logos on it...had it since I was a child. I have a child's metal chair like that, also. It has one of Mother's dolls in it. Ah, the Duncan chess decanters. I like those 1920's fans. I have a floor model, and the thing weighs a ton! That was a great flea! Thanks for the take-along!!!

Great info, thank you! Rattan/bamboo and that 80's art decor revival stuff is hot with us millennials and gen z'ers. I recently thrifted one of those glass vases that look art deco. I had no idea they were Anchor Hocking! I was hoping I had something older, but I'm still happy to have found it.

Love your videos, George…so informative. TFS… Louisville is almost in my back yard, definitely have to check out this flea market. Funny how many items that I see that my parents at one time owned. Who knew? Lol…. Still look8ng for the Vernon Ware dishes (yellow & grren green pattern). Some of the old bs boo pieces are still very cool after all these years.
