I’m writing this at 06:20 am British time on Saturday morning so that means after today we are gaining daylight again , the sun rises at 08:20 am and sets at 15:50 pm today here in stoke on Trent . Can’t wait watch some of the clips around alaska on the shortest day .

Years past , to honor my Grandmother, my Great Aunt, Mom and Dad on their birthdays, other holidays I have purchased inexpensive children's books and donated them to the local public library. I have the honor of writing a dedication which is then transferred to a fancy label and adhered to the inside of the book cover. Readers will never know who these wonderful people were but they will have the opportunity to see their names in print, all the while enjoying a good book. Giving is a joy

I have to share what happened to me today. I worked all day, then ran some errands. Traffic from noon on was horrendous, but you just power through. Needed to send a card to my niece and realized I had the wrong purse with me, the other one had my stamps and address book in it. Oh boy, I get yo the post office in just the nick of time. I was a little stressed from all the craziness of the day but what did I encounter....a mom and her kiddos in the post office passing out candy canes. It made me pause, and give thanks for all the Blessings. What a nice gesture and it was so appreciated. Christmas Blessings to you all.

Going to Costco to prepare to be stuck in for a week + doesn't sound fun, but to Alaskans, it is normal. I remember when I was a kid (probably 2003) that it was so cold in KY at my parents' house that the region shut down. It got so cold the door locks froze locked (and if you could unlock the door, it was either frozen shut or the locks froze open before you could lock the door). That was the only time I remember being stuck in the house for over a week Also, prices at the Costco are prices I would pay for most of the items from the trip.

Bert. Do your ears get cold? My parents never wrapped our gifts. Our gifts were in a big bag and my Father handed us one we looked at it played with it for a while then we were given another one out of the bag. We each got 4. The gifts did have our names on them with a little note from Father and Mother. Plus we each had a stocking usually filled with chocolate bells wrapped in foil a piece of fruit and maybe one small toy or one year I got a little bag with jax and a small ball in a cloth bag. Good memories.

I survived all 3 of my attempts which helped me grow into this person I am today. Because of your family I decided to try and be a crisis volunteer. I sent in my application and my reasoning as to why I’d like to be one and was accepted within the first 24 hours. I’ll start my 30hrs of training January 2, 2020. From there I will then be a text crisis counselor volunteer. So thank you. Thank you so much for making the videos that you do. Much love & respect.
