Shopping Vintage Jeans 101⎜Levi's

A good rule of thumb in buying vintage Levi's is to stick with US made Levi's from before 2000. Back then Levi's used high quality denim that is heavier and softer than they use today. It makes a big difference in comfort, longevity, and fade beauty. The older 501s also fit a lot better. It is easy to identify newer non-vintage jeans by the waist tag. If the lot number (501, 505, etc.) is followed by the circle R trademark sign, then the jeans aren't vintage. Vintage Levi's jeans have just the lot number without the circle R.

501s manufactured before 2000 are the best! The back pockets were changed sometime post 2000, with thinner edge stitching which does not look as good. The fit of 501 was superior prior to 2000 as well.

I've bought couple new Levis trucker denim jackets online both in Size XL one in Black and that fit like a medium size and one in dark denim the shoulders were way too tight not sure if I need to wear XXL or triple XL ? Best to try them in the store first to find out before purchase

Love women’s/juniors 501’s, 505, 512 and 550. I buy USA made on eBay. I bounce between a 29-30” waist and most are labeled juniors size 11. But I always check the waist measurement because it can vary depending on when they were made and how they were washed.
