Shore Fishing in Fuerteventura - Canary Islands - Beach fishing - 300K SUBS!!! | The Fish Locker

Fuerteventura has over 100 beaches and has some wonderful areas if you wish to explore. We spent the day searching for new fishing marks and decided to fish from a beach. I share what fishing regulations there are in Fuerteventura, the licence you require in the Canary Islands and how I brought my fishing tackle with me on our trip. We catch a monster fish from the beach and then celebrate in the local town our subscriber milestone of 300,000 subscribers at a local steak restaurant.

I’m out in El Cotillo in April, I’ve fished out there before for bits with light gear, often fancied taking the big guns out there. You’ve convinced me. Have just booked a rod tube and additional case for the flight. See what’s lurking up North of the island but will be taking a trip down to Calete, been on my becket list for too long ! Excellent series and this is affordable to a lot of people, easy to get to and thousands of digs on Airbnb to go at for buttons compared to package prices. Can’t wait to get out there but I do have Norway to get out of the way first ;-) Bluefish / Bonito top of the list !

For the pair of us for a week, flights, rental car, digs and all of our food and bait it came to just shy of £2k. And that was literally for everything. We didn't scrimp. Easily affordable as a fishing destination.

Your subscribers at present would form a queue along the road route from John o groats to Lands end, that would take around 12 days to walk to the front of. (Actually your subscribers would stretch a bit further ) so you really can say your support covers the whole of Great Britain ha. here's the math If we say a human is about 1.083 ft depth & the gap between humans is 0.417 ft depth Length = 300,000•1.083 + 299,999•.417 = 4499999.6 feet, let's just say 450,000ft 450,000 ft = 852 miles Which is just a few miles more than john o groats to lands end which is 837 miles. This is measured by the route travelled in a car. It's actually more like 600 miles by air but human queues don't float. If you walked at 3 miles per hour, it'd take you 284 hours or 11.8 days to talk from one end of the queue to the other.

Amazing video, the rule that you can only fish on beaches outside of those times are only during summer, right now you can always fish on beaches as long as there are no swimmers.

Congratulations on hitting the 300k mark John. Top tip for the stingray, flip them upside down. It would only be briefly, and you could measure and unhook without the risk of getting hit by that tail.

It’s dangerous and potentially harmful to the stingray to turn them onto their back.

@@TheFishLocker I learned this from boat fishing with locals off Lanzarote, with fish over 100 kgs. They’re brought on board on their backs and a hose pumping seawater put in the mouth. Unhooked, flipped over for a quick picture and slid back . Seemed to work fine.
