@@krollpeter I still liked his stuff in the later phase of Wings, like "Goodnight Tonight." I'm not sure he helped his "brand" (if you believe in that concept) with the duets in the 80s, though I like Stevie Wonder a lot. Paul's more recent tours are about half (or more) Beatles songs, and nothing wrong with that, since that's what most of the people come to hear, I suppose. It's just a challenge to maintain interest over the course of decades.

The humility these guys showed back then was amazing. Born of years playing in the shitty, sweaty clubs of LIverpool and Hamburg. And then they get a taste of fame and they are just so damned humble about it. Nowadays, artists get their requisite 15mins. and think they can walk of water. Jeeezus, I Love the Beatles.

He did that bc he & Ringo were getting single-digit percentages of the money. So he pulled his, & his songs, out to get full $ for them, & created DH. That's how his songs were safe when Michael Jackson bought the rest of the Beatles' catalogue. George also mortgaged his mansion to loan Monty Python 5M for Life of Brian, which fortunately paid off.

This interview was not from 1962. It looks like it was from 1963, and late in the year at that (judging by George's hair).

Spare a thought for how Pete Best felt at this time. They really treated him disgustingly bearing in mind the important role the Casbah played in the early days. If you don't know what I am talking about then you don't know Beatles History.
