I want to add one more note to this lesson that I forgot to include. These forms are most often used when quoting *other* people ("he/she/they said..."), or for saying that you heard something as I mention in the lesson.

대구: 니 지금 뭐라 캤노? 덥다 이래. 맞나? 카모 에어컨 켜. This is all very helpful in organizing grammar patterns on an academic level and what I naturally know in the space that I call my brain. Thank you so much for your videos. 🙏🏻

I am used to listening this form, nice to know it's just a form to quote someone. Nice lesson.

Thank you for another great video! I have a question. Are these shortened forms mostly used in the present, even though the action of saying took place in the past?

It is such a coincidence. I see a question about this yesterday . I know the answer but can't explain to someone else 😂 Thank you for the explanation 😀

Are these forms only used in speaking or can they also be used in writing? If so, is it less polite than using the full form?
@GoBillyKorean2 жыл бұрын
Speaking and writing are both fine, but none of them are for formal usage.

@@GoBillyKorean So... is there a formal way to quote? Or is quoting informal?
@GoBillyKorean2 жыл бұрын
@@VichinoDDA You would use the full form, with a formal ending on the verb you use (for example, 했습니다).

Is there a short version for the I "did" part? not the I "said" part? for example: I said "I already DID it" 이미 했대요/ 했댔어요 (does this work?). Or in this case, one can only use the other shor forms: 이미 했다고요.

Your examples work :)
