Method feeder is my favourite style of fishing. Its fantastic to see the top boys do it,and jon is one of them. Excellent film matrix.

Perfect scenario for using a bait runner reel😊
@JonArthur Жыл бұрын
I’ve used several mini baitrunners in the past for this but tend to find in a match scenario a loosened clutch is just as convenient

I just started recently and struggled to set up my feeder at larger distances so naturally i started fishing in the margins on few rods lenght and had great success so far.

Even on hot days when you think they would be shallow on far bank or margins, fishing short down the track about 12-15ft has worked for me.

Great video Jon, would you consider doing method feeder short instead of going down the edge with a pole towards the end of a match? 👍
@JonArthur Жыл бұрын
Yep!
@andyhutch8262 Жыл бұрын
I dont own a pole, never had interest of pole fishing, just lately I have upped to a better rod Shimano x5 aero, 10ft, I always used nothing less than 12ft rods. All venues I fish are on the small size, no point buying rods to cast 80yds. Just lately I have started to use matrix banded hooks to nylon, touch wood, best i have used up to now. I always method feeder fishing close in, or down the sides, had some great sport down the edges with carp late in the day.

can the band em range take bait spikes jon as it what I use on my hooklengths for method feeder work??
@JonArthur Жыл бұрын
Yes I actually prefer to use a spike a lot of the time, but a band when I’m swapping hook baits

Do wafters float?
@JonArthur Жыл бұрын
All wafters should float until they are hooked/hair rigged , then the weight of the hook should make them sink and ‘waft’

Forget messing with the clutch … get a baitrunner … no chance of the rod going in 😮
