It's crazy how in late 2021, I got my Poco X3 Pro for 200€ - then Russia and inflation happened, and the X5 Pro currently costs twice as much for the same amount of RAM and flash storage and the SD 778G is STILL slightly weaker than the SD 860. I mean I know it got a better screen and stuff, but Jebus, what a disaster. High Five to everyone else who bought a phone in 2021.

Yes. This is true of other brands as well. I've noted Motorola doing similar. Their 2020 & 2021 models have Snapdragon chips while the new 2022 & 2023 are MediaTek chips with lower performance GPU and efficiencies. MediaTek has better chips, but Motorola is cheaping out for their newer budget phones.

Coming from someone who experienced the first Pocophone F1 and is now using the Poco X3 GT 5G I can definitely say the "Pro" versions of the X4 and the X5 series are a disappointment. I believe they switched the meaning of "Pro" to having the one with a "better" camera on series and the "GT" being the one with the actual better specs under the hood unlike the X3 where the X3 Pro is actually a better phone than the X3 NFC and the X3 GT is a tier up compared to the X3 Pro in terms of performance hence the GT moniker on it's name.

I 've this phone. Rather big phone and big sticking out cameras. Previously I had Mi 9 lite and I see no improvement in cameras. You can't take photos in RAW format. Main camera is good but wide angle camera is a lot worse. It has very big distortions, it makes straight lines curved. On main camera you can use maximum 30 sek exposure but on wide angle camera only 1/2 sek. You have automatic mode and pro mode which is fully manual, no semi automatic mode. In the automatic mode, the camera doesn't display the parameters of exposure, so you don't know the shutter speed or ISO value what I don't like. In my opinion if you have 2-3 years old phone like Mi 9 lite which I had, you shouldn't buy this phone because the improvemnt won't be so big.

Edit: Seems like I was wrong, the phone was tested by other LMG employees before him Li-Po batteries should not be dead out of the box. For storage, they should be charged to approximately 70% in order to prevent wear. Xiaomi failing to do so means that either there is something wrong with the phone or that they just don't care about the customer.

I will copy my comment from your other recent Xiaomi video titled why you shouldn't get one... "It's funny how when Chinese phones rules over the majority of Europe (especially Central and Eastern, Western not so much) North America (and Western Europe) were avoiding them, but now when the same most of Europe (besides Western) is ditching them, North America (and Western Europe) is starting to use those. But ye, you shouldn't buy these no matter how great they seem initially. Seriously, don't, unless you're a teen that changes their phone every other year anyway and don't care about politics and the impact you have on the world. I myself used to have a Redmi Pro and a Pocophone F1. Both physically fell apart into pieces very fast despite seeming very well built when new, like within 2 years the Redmi Pro had the battery expanding so the handset split, and both kept the USB ports getting broken, and the Poco at some point died so bad no repair shop knows how to wake it up (and finding one willing to handle these is a challenge in the UK, most repair shops only handle major non-Chinese brands only, and the ones who do handle Chinese phones never have parts in stock but they order it on demand from China which means the repairs take weeks instead of hours, and I had issues with one repair on my poco having trouble with reception after a repair because I suspect they used parts from a wrong version, Chinese or Indian - instead of European, because of how confusing this all is to these shops and easy to make a mistake). Both phones worked amazing at first and then with time they would deteriorate in the use experience as well, random crashes, battery drains and generally were gradually becoming unusable with odd glitches and bugs becoming more and more frequent and frustrating. And it's not due to any physical damage to them that I caused or bricking them by messing with software, they're just that unreliable, there's a reason why they're so cheap and it's NOT that they're "selling them at the cost of production and distribution with no profit margin because they hope you subscribe to their preinstalled services to pay monthly and let them make money", that's a myth, they do very much have a profit margin there. And remember that all Chinese large corporations are nationalised, so you're directly funding the regime that supports Russia's invasion over Ukraine, the stuff they do to Uighurs, the stuff they do to HK, Tibet, etc., the stuff they're about to do to Taiwan, the stuff they do with their African neocolonies, the stuff with the social score ratings, and much more... I was already getting frustrated with how quickly these phones fall apart and how they just don't work reliably, I had a massive cognitive dissonance because I wanted to love them, I wanted to feel smarter than everyone with iPhones and Samsungs that I didn't spend that much and I have the fastest SOC on the market and so on and so forth. But seriously you're just buying extremely irresponsible e-waste. And once the support of the invasion over Ukraine happened, that made something snap in me that I just needed to stop lying to myself about these phones being amazing for longer than maybe half a year to a year and a better bang/buck ratio (they're just not considering you need to replace them much more frequently and you won't sell the old one that broke), and to stop supporting foreign totalitarian warmongers and neocolonists. BTW, I went with Sony this time and I am so far deff happy with my choice, no signs of it falling into pieces like the previous Xiaomis so far and it's been about 1.5 year already, by which time I would be already struggling both with the Redmi Pro as well as the Poco F1."

Take the phone outside' take a photo there with a natural sun light! and i guarantee you it'll look better than your expensive overpriced Iphone-14, you freaking apple fanboi!.. Look Poco x5 pro is a mid ranger and for some a luxury! but ghizzz even us/them knows how to properly take a photo! not in an environment with lots of hectic LED lights in all directions in a studio!

Poco seems to be copying OnePlus playbook, release a flagship affordable phone Poco F1, OP1 then decline from there. the X3 Pro is 30% cheaper, two years older, but has way faster graphics than this, CPU only slightly behind but essentially the same.

Glass back sound good on paper, but it's so bad in reality. My hands are not sweaty by any stretch of the imagination, and my S10+ still gets gross after five minutes of just holding it in the hand. I wish there were more options like carbon or just quality plastic.
