I have been having problems finding the right jet until I watched your video. I went with your recommendations of 155 jet and 3rd notch on slide along with opening up the top of the air box. What a difference I have had today, it’s got more low end torque and turbo like midrange power! Thanks so much! 🎉

GREG !!!! - I have been out of town for the last 6 days, so I apologize for the late reply. You will never know how much you comment means to me and I am so glad it was helpful. There are soooooo many bloody variables, I thought I'd share my thoughts as well. Although, not in the video, I also trimmed about 10MM off my spring too (PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK THIS - AS I AM GOING BY MEMORY - VERY DANGEROUS !!!!) - "Per the "Aussie" suggestion" - Not that you need to - But no matter what just make sure you get it tuned right - Which is easy. Long story short - "Lean is mean" and you most certainly don't want it running "fat" - Even though it's a 4 stroke - It can load up on you !!!! Cheers Mate !!!!

I found my DR runs best on regular grade fuel, too. They don’t have a computer or o2 sensors so it doesn’t need it. Good info.

Dane, Just put the DR back together with the Yoshi exhaust and Procycle jet kit. Still have some fine tuning to do but HOLY SHIT (Code-4)! The "Mighty DR650" just became more mighty! I am amazed at the difference in throttle response and torque. I haven't even adjusted the idle fuel mixture screw yet and and it starts up just like yours! I will be putting some miles on it tomorrow and then fine tune as needed. Thanks again for putting this video out. I used several of your (and the Aussies) ideas/ techniques for the rejetting. Running a 155 main jet with the needle in the 4th slot. Cheers! William
@pilotdane14 жыл бұрын
CODE 4....."FUCKEN A" 😬I think my needle was in the 3rd slot, but that doesn't matter. What does matter is how it runs. I know in the beginning of my adventure, it would "load up" while sitting at a stop light - sometimes to the point of dying. Anyway, I could go on and on - that is freakin awesome !!!!! Congrats - You've probably heard me say it - I'd put my DR up against anybody's !!!!! - "except yours now" LOL... Cheers Mate !

Hey Obi, i see that kept your stock air filter? I think the stock air filter is very dense and limiting the air to go through, and possibli taking little power from you, don't you think? Did you change it since? Tkx
@pilotdane14 жыл бұрын
I have not changed it "yet" - but you bring up a good point. I will look into it further soon. I am in the middle of mounting / wiring some LED "Aux. Lights" as we speak. I'll do some research soon on that. That all said - my DR runs soooooo good - I can't complain at all !!!!!

Do you think drilling the extra hole in diaphram makes any difference in decel popping?I just installed Lexx slipon and ProCycle 150 main and I did not drill diaphram extra hole but still get decel popping?
@billmastrippolito71322 жыл бұрын
Put a 45 pilot jet in to fix decel popping. Drilling an extra hole in the diaphram just makes the throttle more responsive and touchy.
@justgjt2 жыл бұрын
Its was setup this way from the factory to get it through emission standards not to make the bike run optimal. It needs a little bit of finese to get the most out of it. Easy to achieve 👍🏻

If I didn’t know any better I’d say you live in Las Vegas. I was fucking around with the idle screw in front of the screw you were fiddling with. Edit; Probably because when I just went out and had a look at my Dr, I realised I don’t have the screw you were tuning. I’m guessing that’s an after market carburettor?
@pilotdane13 жыл бұрын
Hey bud - a few things. Carb is stock - BUT - that screw you see on my bike is part of the PRO Cycle Carb kit. I'm going by memory here, but you'll probably have to take the carb out, or at least loosen it up real good and twist it so you can get to the bottom. I think there is a little cap - protecting the screw inside - that will have to be removed if it is there - AGAIN - could be wrong. But that little "stock" screw down there is a pain to tune (while running) unless you have a funny small screw driver (really short) with a "round - flat" handle - like this example: www.motosport.com/product/?cc=us&gclid=Cj0KCQjw9O6HBhCrARIsADx5qCRqYxG81MqICsf2MdA942HE9Qx0en-zY8xtJebDM4j12LLCGPSaaqUaAnmeEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds&key=BikeMaster-4Piece-Carburetor-Tool-Wrench-Set&pssource=true&segment=badger&variant=BMS00CP-X001-Y001&variant[BMS00CP]=BMS00CP-X001-Y001

Sorry for the long winded reply - but additionally - on both sides of the "carby" - keep track of several hoses. 2 on the far side that lead to the air box area - and of course - taking off the fuel line & another small one from the tank to the carb on the left side - "where you'll be working".... Side panels, seat and tank should be removed for this. Also loosen / completely open up the "reusable" "zip tie" holding wires and shit under the tank. I wish I was there with you - to show you - but there are lots of videos on this... Lastly - Glendale, AZ....
