I love my short shift adapter!! No play between gears what so ever!! Thanks ProCivic!

Just installed this kit. I'd say the most difficult part was taking out the shifter from the vehicle. Took me 70 mins total. The difference is night and day! such crisp, clean and solid shifts. Thanks!

Thanks for this install video; I wouldn't have been successful without it. Took me about 5 hours but nothing broke! I found it handy to release the pins holding the sides of the console so that there was more room to work with. They're floppy and easy to push outward.

LOL so i got it off and got the kit installed! it is amazing haha made such a huge difference i had to undo the 4 bolts holding onto the whole shifter and the turn it sideways a little in order to get the left shifter cable off i couldn't get the leverage to spin it and my white clip came off like i said and it is never to be seen again! lol so i hope it holds itself in there with just that good ol pin!

Just installed this today. Everything was pretty straight forward. Releasing the cables from the cage I thought would be a problem but was able to get them out and in pretty easy. They are spring loaded so when you twist them counter-clockwise they want to twist the opposite direction. Even though I watched the portion that went over this in the video, I still wasn't sure until I got in there. As for the factory bushing, I had to use a vise grip wrench to get it off, but used it similar to how it was demonstrated in the video. Also, not only did I grease the inside of the bushing that came with the kit, but I put a bit on the outside too. Make sure the bushing is on straight or you might have trouble like me and end up having to remove the cage twice. When I had it at a bit of an angle (I couldn't move it by hand once snapped on) the cable end wasn't able to pop back on. I used a small piece of of 2x4 to tap the bushing until it was on straight, though I'm sure you could use a rubber mallet. After that the cable end was able to pop back on (I'm sure the bit of grease helped too). Overall the side to side movement takes more effort, but nothing I won't get used to. I'm thinking I'll adjust and the bushing will break in a bit. The most noticeable change was from 3rd to 4th. 1st to 2nd should be the same but for me it was more noticeable with the former. Also, this was done after I had already been running the acuity bushings (base and tranny side) for a couple of years now. A recommended upgrade for sure.

Thank you for those infos I will consider them soon, my kit is on its way in the mail ! Did you « trim » the plastic under the shifter assembly ? And if yes , what did you use?
@sekngen4 жыл бұрын
@@bennyspaghetti8578 I used a dremel (rotary tool) with a cutting wheel to trim it.

Just installed it today. Shift so crisp. I’d like to add that the metal bracket in the bottom is sharp and can cut you if you’re not careful

Just ordered one for my 9th gen accord . Would the trimming process be the same ?

Hey Rudy, great video but I was curious to know if you would suggest spending a bit more and just getting an actual short shifter kit such as Aquity? Thanks!
@grim03513 жыл бұрын
Aptly named "Krispy Shift", definitely more precise! You can really feel the difference on the 2/3 shift and there's no play with the solid mounts!👍

Hey so I got the shifter installed and the difference was impressive. Shifter feels much better. Also while removing/installing the rotatable collar did slow me down but wasn’t bad. At reinstallation the stupid clip for the shift cable that connects under the shifter popped out but was able to reinstall it. Also I was wondering why I needed to trim the plastic cage holding the shifter in place. Did you specify this to solve a clearance issue while shifting?

That would be correct. The pivot point a is bit longer and as such, could hit on the cage. The trimming is done to avoid it hitting the cage.

Hey i bought one of your short shift kits, do I need your red shifter base bushings or can i reuse the factory ones? (The ones that the 12mm bolt goes through to hold down the shifter base)
@procivic6 жыл бұрын
The stock bushings can be used without issues. We offer our own solid bushings for a better overall feel, but are not required.

PRO Car Studio alright thanks! Hope it comes soon so I can install it. I am a little worried about losing or breaking the spring on the cables since it’s my first time. Are there instructions supplied in the kit to show how to disassemble it or if there is a video showing how to disconnect the cables from the drivers side Point of View?

Installed this kit today, shift are short, direct and precise. My only complaint is that the ball end bushing may be too tight. Will this loosen up a bit over time? I'm quite sure that's it's actually causing the shifter to drag a little bit.

In your opinion what is shorter/smoother the Buddy Club or Sirimoto short shifter?
@procivic8 жыл бұрын
+Sweezy Si Based on our testing, the Sirimoto kit offers a 33% reduction, while the Buddy Club is roughly 20%. The Sirimoto kit is a bit notchier, but you can get used it it pretty quickly.

what is the purpose of trimming the base?
@procivic8 жыл бұрын
+Jefferson Librojo Since short shifters changes the position of the cables a bit, it needs to be trimmed so that the cables clear the cage.

dude... you make taking that shifter cable off look too easy.... mine wont spin like you say.... the white clip broke off.... and fell down bellow never to be seen again... now what am i suppose to do....
@procivic6 жыл бұрын
+Gert That piece is more of a lock, it's there to ensure it won't spin. However, even without it, it's very unlikely to happen.
@fuzzy4556 жыл бұрын
yeah that's what i figured i mean after you clip that sucker back in there it is definitely in there tight.... i don't think it will come off either.... if i cant pull it off LOL i don't see it wiggling out of there... but i do have a question.... have you guys ever had anyone have any problems with the adapter falling off? or coming like loose while shifting??? i tightened it very tight! and with the lock tight!! but... i am just scared to do hard shifts.... i feel like its gonna brake but i tightened that sucker up good so i dunno... wondering though if you ever had anyone with problems like that??
@procivic6 жыл бұрын
+Gert We have't heard of this happening at all. As long as it's properly tightened down, you shouldn't have a problem.
