You can see the lack of tint and distortion from here. Honestly, those are two of the most important things for me with a dot. Battery life and resilience are next. The auto off is nice for us that have our weapons in a vault for most of the year. For those complaining about battery life, that's over two years of constant runtime. Just change your damn battery once a year and you will always be fine. I will definitely be getting at least one of these to replace my DPP as it's too big.

durability is king. Most of the other brands can't claim much durability and even some trij optics are not "duty" worthy. Features are features yes, but for something that you need to rely on for your life, less features and more durability is important. It just needs the features to keep a good QOL baseline. The other features in the other dots are not things you either need or just add complexity to something that needs to be durable. (and holosun's optic image is ass. too much tint and distortion)

I have 3 different EOTech holo's on my Komrad, Tavor 7, and Banshee 10mm (LOVE them), but went with a Trijicon SRO for my Walther PPQ .45. I LOVE the SRO, and wanted the larger field of view than the RMR, but realize it's not as rugged as the RMR. So, if the EOTech red dot is as robust/rugged as the RMR with a larger window, I might consider switching IF it would fit on my slide. If it won't, no biggie, still love the SRO that's on it, I'll just have to make sure I don't drop it. I was REALLY hoping that EOTech could have made a more compact version of their holo for pistol use. Guess the technology just isn't quite there yet. Glad to see them enter the market as an alternative though, competition is ALWAYS a good thing.

Nice EOtech!!. Coming out the gate late to the party and old tech thats phasing out. Its 2022 trends change, FULLY enclosed emitter, shake awake chip, water submersible (min 10 meters) and withstand (min) 10k round review by Sage dynamics. You finally got in the VIP room, but the club just announced last call. Anyone who seriously carrys every day, all day, will tell you. Open emitter design sucks on EDC ok for range gun. By 8hrs its full of lint and other debris. You have to constantly clean and god forbid one tiny piece of sand or metal gets in there, your lense gets scratched all up. Duster being the only way. You have to blow the inside of that tiny "cup" out. Lense cloths just roll it around scratching.

Dude you are talking so much shit. I carry an RMR every day and never had so much as a hint of a problem with debris over my emitter. Just like you can get sand, dust, a dry booger or lint on the emitter you can also get mud on both the front and back lens of an enclosed optic. The ACRO is a really nice red dot but they both have the same problem. If you are worried about that kind of stuff red dots just aren’t for you.

@@CaptainCreampie69 ever hear of constructive criticism? Or sarcasm? You should check out the video of holosun at shot show by gunspot and listen to what many end users have reported to holosun and why they made 2 new enclosed models. Im not the only one with the issue an complaint. Its not the emitter getting covered its the lense, inside a small "cup" shape making it hard to clean the inside of the lense off. To be competitive in the market of pistol red dots closed emitter is the future. Holosun came out with 2 new enclosed, aimpoint upgraded and finally delivering P2, and Steiner just released improved closed emitter. Sig is trying to get their romeo 2 out. I own 11 micro red dots the acro p1 the holosun 509t and Steiner mps as well as RMR type 2. I can clean off the exterior lenses instantly on closed style. The open style takes a lot more time leads to damage of inside lense. Watch Military arms channel they did a test on this very thing. There is a reason why so many have been released recently. Its a product why are you SO offended? Are you a glock fan boy? Get butt hurt when ppl say its not perfection? Yet every one ya buy ppl immediately replace the sights, upgrade the trigger and have to get it stippled. I prefer Sig, i dont get butt hurt and can acknowledge ppl have a point when they speak about high bore axis, havent changed since the 80's, or how sig does beta testing on their customers. Thats how things improve, complaints when it sucks or suggestions on what needs adjusted or tweaked. Its a product, not your family member. Chill

Honestly, using the Deltapoint footprint was a weak move. They should've stuck with an RMR footprint. There's way too many aftermarket compatible dots which fit this footprint as the industry standard. Deviating away from that is going to deter quite a few end users alone. On top of that, besides the closed emitter, this optic suffers from every other open emitter outside of Trijicon. Their glass will still break from the geometry of having a square body. Finally, out of all the products they're showcasing, why aren't they showcasing their 1-10x28 Vudu?

Everyone in the comments are only talking about the price and not looking at literally everything else, it has less than half the battery life of the industry standard 50k hours even though it's bulkier than other red dots, only ONE night vision setting so it's going to be too bright or too dim depending on what tubes and generation you have, NO auto brightness, NO shake awake, and doesn't use the most commonly used micro footprint that people have milled out. People are getting excited just for a logo and not looking at it objectively.

Why would I buy this when for not that much more money I could get a Steiner MPS or Holosun 509T X2. That's a small price to pay for a VERY significant upgrade to performance under unfavorable conditions. I don't really see the point in releasing any sort of open emitter optic with the strides that have been made with closed emitters.

@@cody8217 I guess every single major guntuber is wrong about their optics choices then. Where do you think the electronic components used inside all of these “Made in America” optics comes from? Where do you think the phone or computer you used to type that came from? How bout the chip in your car that you use to drive to work everyday? I guess you’re just taking advantage of kids in sweatshops too.

Not everyone likes enclosed emitters, they’re pretty unsightly. Plus this is obviously their entry RD with a price like that… They’re definitely coming out with a enclosed one in $500+ price range.
@picklerick9578

If you are saying the look of an enclosed emitter is unsightly, that's like saying a prius makes a better construction vehicle because of its fuel efficiency. An enclosed emitter optic is superior in every functional aspect and needs to be viewed as such. A reliable optic is not something that's meant to look pretty. You need something that works and won't get crap in front of the emitter.
@KennyRodgers930
@KennyRodgers930 2 жыл бұрын
@@picklerick9578 Um… What? Nobody had problems with open emitters until like 6 months ago and the majority of red dot people still think the RMR is the best optic out. Tf are you talking about with a Prius dude? A better comparison would be a F150 vs a Cyber Truck. The F150 has been doing the job perfectly for generations, and can still do truck duties perfectly today. The Cyber Truck is a new idea, more torque and user friendly features than the old style trucks, which are all really nice but pretty unnecessary for actual use.

@@picklerick9578 Yeah, it’s weird how all of a sudden people are deep throating what someone said about enclosed emitters. My RMR has been carried for years now and never had a problem. You can get mud on the front and back lenses and not see shit through it so how is it more reliable again? Stick to irons if you wrestle in mud, sand, silt, gravel, and dog shit before your gun fights. 😂🤣😂

@@CaptainCreampie69 Because the emitter can get caked with debris which you can't wipe off. I'm not deepthroating something if that's where the change in industry is moving. I'm not deepthroating it if a major company called Aimpoint decides to be the first company on the market to introduce the concept. Good for you and your RMR. I'm sure it runs well. It's also nice knowing that those holosun emitters have worked well for Trijicon for all these years. Oh wait a minute......isn't trijicon coming out with an enclosed RMR.....

@@picklerick9578 When have you ever heard of someone’s emitter getting caked other than in forced instances? Even then the recoil of the gun kicks whatever’s inside the optic out, it’s physics. I appendix carry and get lint all over my gun/optic, never had a problem with the emitter. People love the idea of something being “over built,” Im one of them, but in reality an open emitter isn’t going to be a problem. Especially for under $400

I'm glad Eotech is getting into the game...but I don't see this as advancing anything out there or beating another price point. It might win based on durability but that remains to be seen.
