Just finished talking with a gunsmith who was telling me I need to start again with my shooting style because I keep a flat rib (obscured front bead). Thank you for confirming my thoughts that bead alignment is individual. Liked and subscribed!

Thank you. This is a very good explanation of the mid-bead. Today I was at the trap range with my 13 yo daughter. Our pro came up to us after the round and told us that he noticed my daughter’s shotgun (Remington 20 gauge Bantam) did not have a mid-bead. He thought this might be why she was not consistently shooting well. He suggested that she try the club’s gun with a mid-bead to see if that helps her mount. Well I came home and this was the video I found. Now even I can understand his comments. We always appreciate his advice and we both take lessons from him. What I got from this video includes (1) mid-bead is important for consistent mount, (2) consistent cheek pressure and (3) well, forgot already. Need to rewatch. Thanks for your videos, I can watch them over and over. I have only been shooting clays for 15 months but I learn something new with each video. Thank you from Naples, Florida!

I have very little experience with shotguns. I stopped and watched trap shooting at the range two weeks ago and decided to give it a try. I bought a cheaper brand o/u 12 Gage and tried out the sport today. I listened to many of your videos this week and tried to put it into play. I shot two rounds of 50 targets total. I actually made contact on 20 targets, and hit right on the clay target of 5 of them. I think your helpful advice made a difference. I really wasn't expecting to hit the bird at all, with such little experience with shotguns and a moving target. I would say to myself, in my mind, "see the bird, shoot the bird", the call out "pull". I had a lot of fun out there.

Cat Dude...good on you...and as the weeks go by you'll keep hitting more and more targets...best wishes to you!

My field guns lack a mid bead, as appropriate, but to me an absolute must on a sporting gun. Great, concise video.

New trap shooter here. I've been trying to find out the purpose of the beads from many a trap video and this video finally answered it succinctly! Use them to align your cheek on the stock and then never look at them again when you say "pull". I have been using the beads for aiming after the "pull" Hopefully now I can improve my score. Thank you!!

Don...the mid bead is the greatest friend we have...it ensures that our eye is perfectly lined up with our rib...but once we call pull we never look at our gun again we just focus on the clay...stay well and happy shooting!!!

Thanks Roger for another useful informative video You made a kind comment on a video I posted a year-and-a-half ago. j Just wanted to let you know that the young lady who was the commander of the rifle drill team in that video (our daughter) has completed her first year at the United States Military Academy at West Point. during her first summer training she was the top scoring shooter in her Squad with a rifle. She's doing great and having fun. Keep going with the videos and congratulations on getting to the A grade. I take some inspiration from your journey and hope to break into B grade this year cheers

Hello Roger I’m a novice shotgunner game and sporting clays my intention I just bought a unused beretta 687nSilver Pigeon 2 a beauty 30 “ barrel No mid bead should i install one if how do i have this done
@rogerpace93225 жыл бұрын
Edward...i am a big believer in mid beads...any gunsmith should be able to install one for you!

The mid bead does nothing. It's what you do or don't do with it that counts.
