Both Naka sensei and Yamashiro sensei are awesome. And it's great that they are both very open-minded and intellectually curious and analytical. Would love to study under them.

I got to do one weekend seminar with Yamashiro sensei ten years ago, that two days left a deep and permanent impact on how I approach Karate.
My god, this is fuckin amazing! It's like a real life manga! Two adult men laughing from the heart from sheer joy of finding someone strong! And such unbelievable skill, from both! Seemed like they barely touched each other, yet there has been such a technical mind battle in wich they couldn't find an opening, the other was perceiving the opponent's intentions and you could barely grasp from the outside. Mind blowing

I prefer the other okinawan karate style which not more full body frontal rather than sideways body stance
3.49, 3.59, 4.19 and a few other seconds show how bloody fast is sensei Naka. What a master and i don't even like shotokan :)

Naka Sensei extremely fast. Just a pointer. (Look I know everybody uses if you do this I do that) In a fight it does not work like that. Though on 4:16 I would usually tempt the attacker (Naka sensei) to attack, lean side ways back with a full Yoko Geri Kikomi. Kick can be devastating if done correctly. The leaning back and twisting of the hips get you completely out of danger from 4:19 Oi zuki/gyaku zuki with the person doing the punch walking into your Yoko Geri. Yoko Geri Kikomi can be devastating. Kicked a fellow karateka in kumite competition from centre of ring to outside of his side of the ring without him touching the ground. When done against 4x4 brick pillar roof used to shake. Wall... you would here the power. Great for sparring and kumite competitions with guys always looking for the punch point. Also stop people from running over you or dominating your space. Who else found this works great?

Another comment thread says that is Pro MMA fighter Katsunori Kikuno. I cannot confirm it though.

I recommend you to buy this DVD, so you can find any unique Kata techniques!
What gets me are the millions of people practicing traditional martial arts. Some for sport and others to teach. Some devoting their lives. To arts that don't work in real life most of the time. As the saying goes ...the way you train is the way you'll react. Applies to any sport. But in the end it is better than knowing no self-defence at all.
