Do people realize how much more difficult it is for Kendrick to do numbers than drake. Kendricks type of music has rarely gone mainstream. The fact that he outsold a hip "pop" artist is phenomenal

@malr75127 жыл бұрын
Let's be real, Drake is nice as well maybe not as nice as Jay-Z, but lets remember people in 00's were coming at Jay neck when he began to simplify his wordplay for the sake of mainstream hits. All I'm saying is Drake is the new hiphop era/version of Jay-Z, point blank. Jay was dropping non-stop hits in his heydays and Drake is doing that now. Drake charting doesn't lie. I would never compare lyrically Jay vs Drake because thats not a fair fight, but as far as mainstream hits and his name holding weight, Drizzy is up there with Jay

Completely agree with Joe when he says the next album after More Life is the most important. Since Take Care nobody has had more hype and dominance in hip-hop. Like Nadeska said Drake teased Views for MONTHS, making people to believe this will be his confirmation of being the best rapper in the game. Numbers wise it was his most successful but as an opportunity to solidify himself as the best, it was a flop. Which I believe gave Kendrick the window to come with his best and be put back into the conversation. More Life was a good rebound from Views but Damn was executed so perfectly and at the most perfect time for Kendrick, it still took the win. So now the question is....what is the next best move from Drake? And the answer is simple. Put out his best album, his most important piece of work, at the most important time.

Drake to me has 3 classic albums that I can say classic. Kdot has Section 80, Good Kid Maad City, To Pimp A Butterfly, and Damn. Although on commercial sales Section 80 wasn't good commercially it still show great quality of a structure album to make a classic like Good Kid Maad City. Each album had top itself like it suppose to do.

I think Drake forgot about what he did this for and that's been the argument even with the feud and back and forth with one another. This is competition on a skill note. Kdot proved that he can be still skilled and do it for the culture and still sale records. Without the glamorous and cute drama pre Modana stuff he has been doing with Kanye. Look Kendrick is keeping it real with the culture drake is trying to hard now he is a face to see but when we want that real we gone go to Cole and Kendrick

I think drake writes his stuff cause I won't act like dude didnt have some nice shit before he even met Quentin. end of the day though drake doesn't care cause he will get his regardless but if he wanted to end it all I think he needs a RAP ALBUM not a hybrid like views but a RAP ALBUM

For real! Don't get me wrong though, he's still the best rapper alive
@churromio7 жыл бұрын
A Person yet nothing in the world of hip hop is worse than a drake Stan. That's a fact.
@malcomwest267 жыл бұрын
But what's more annoying? Kendrick stans constantly talking sales... or drake stans constantly defending drake for getting outsold. Like all y'all chill tf out lmaoo
@NBSuperb7 жыл бұрын
tpab didnt sell well but you are dumb to deny that tpab is one of the greatest albums of all times.selling is good but drake is a sellout
@HDotBlogSpot7 жыл бұрын
Em worked with Jay, Nas worked with Jay, Pac worked with Big, Wayne's worked with everybody, Game been trynna get G-Unit back together and we know a 50/Game collab would still be crazy right now. A Remy/Nicki collab would've done way more for their careers than the beef did. I'd like to see these two go head to head but a collab at their prime, adding j cole to the mix that could break records for real.

Drake don't write his shit, done. King Kendrick.
@JohnDoe-vf3qo7 жыл бұрын
Satirical Silas he doesn't have to he's a pop star we don't say anything about Beyoncé not writing sometimes. It's what pop star have the ability to do. Drake is the best rapper in term of popularity with Kendrick having a big handicap in album sale drake still came close to his album sales. Kendrick is the best lyricist of this generation or best mainstream lyricist
@tspecialone74167 жыл бұрын
Shamir Fisher people don't listen to the words anymore it's all about the beat and flow that's y drake is more popular
@JohnDoe-vf3qo7 жыл бұрын
VLEX that's not the truth the reason he's more popular because his music is for the mass and good to listen too. Plus it gives a better feel than listening to lyricist rappers talking about depress shit.
@tspecialone74167 жыл бұрын
Shamir Fisher k dot doesn't rap about depressed shit he raps about things that relates to some people and he has lots of songs that have good flow and good to listen to. that's like saying b.i.g Tupac nwa rapped about depressed shit does that mean drake is better than them,
@JohnDoe-vf3qo7 жыл бұрын
VLEX the truth is depressing lol. He rapped about killing himself in the last album and about the multiple ways he could die in this album and rapped about music business being the devil telling away from rappers and on this one about him getting killed by an old woman. That's all depressing topics. It's not an everyday listen. I understand Kendrick is the best lyricist but the reason he doesn't beat drake is because drake doesn't make depressing music or makes it sound depressing when he does talk about some depressing shit and makes it catchy plus drake talks about everyday truths not black truths.

@badass15027 жыл бұрын
SweetScienceAPA thats exactly why every song sounded like drake featuring drake oh how quickly they forget. drake had the crown up until what a time then to me at that point it was anyones to grab

I'd love to see them work together again. But they've been subliminally dissing each other for years, wonder over what though.
@primedw31017 жыл бұрын
he washed Kendrick in the two songs they have together .... oh and washed Kendrick after kdot was throwing the shots at drake couple years back. Drake gave him a couple bars in "shit remix" And cleaned Kendrick

Joe loves this "Drake fell off" topic, as if Drake isn't going to keep thriving out here and Kendrick won't go back into ghost mode after he's done touring
@maxmcconnell6907 жыл бұрын
Sara Ce Pretty sure Kendrick won't go into "ghost mode." He had tons of features AND a throwaway album between Tpab and DAMN.
@justapugontheinternet7 жыл бұрын
doesn't mean he's not getting paid even in his "ghost mode". He just doesn't do social media as much as people like Drake and I envy that about him.
@anonymousbeaver95257 жыл бұрын
didn't say he wasn't getting paid, by ghost I meant he's going to lay relatively low while working on his next album unlike most of these rappers out here. I like that about him too
@KingLoop137 жыл бұрын
Sara Ce You wanna know why Drake "thrives" and Kendrick goes into "ghost mode"? Because Kendrick doesnt fucking produce pop records that take t-10 days to come up with from ghostwriters. I like both of them, but to act like Drake has some special ability because of his lack of humility in making music is bottom line disrespectful to the mental effort Kendrick puts into each and every one of his songs. I guarantee he could easily stay on if he wanted to, but that's not Kendrick and if he ever did his music wouldnt be the same.
@anonymousbeaver95257 жыл бұрын
Drake's special ability IS to stay relevant lol he does it like no other rapper in the past decade. He has too many other side hustles, sponsorships, and fake relationships w other mega pop stars that keep him and his music relevant. Kendrick's great at what he does and his music probably wouldn't sound the same if he tried to do what Drake does and make pop hits, which is why I said Drake will stay thriving and Kendrick will go ghost after his tour, meaning Drake will still be at the tip of everyone's tongue with all the other shit he's doing and Kendrick will go back to work on his next album out of the public eye cus that's not that important to him.
@alejandroserrano77557 жыл бұрын
He congratulated The Weeknd. Drake is smart in what he does and how he does it. Kendrick making a more commercial album is him putting pressure on all these pop rappers and making them go and take shit more serious
@LohkiKenzo7 жыл бұрын
All the hype and bullshit aside for both artists, y'all can't act like Drake ever was a better rapper than Kendrick. That's asinine to think in my humble opinion

Keionte Brown-Johnson kanye is better than both
@LohkiKenzo7 жыл бұрын
Miguel Velasco ill accept that if you mean creating music, but I don't think Kanye's bars and bars alone are quite on par with Kenny. But Kanye's production along with bars def puts him in the battle of who's better
