Thank you so much for this info. I’m in Spain and have booked to remove a quite big amalgam filling so I was a little worried. I have had chronic fatigue and my short term memory has been so bad since teenage years. I thought I would see if it’s my fillings. I drink cds now before to help clear what i can before and I have zeolite and bentonite ready for after the removal. My dentist has done it before but I’m still worried about the vapor because I’m only breathing through my nose the hole time. This video calmed and assured me it’s the right thing to do. ❤

Mercury vapour is the concern and that's why using safe amalgam removal protocols like rubber dam, filtration, separate air supply etc is advised

I live in the US and had multiple amalgams placed from when I was a preteen to young adulthood. Finally, in my early 30s I decided to have them all removed safely but I didn't embark on a serious detox protocol afterwards. I don't regret my decision and am continuing to detox daily.

I have like 9-10 silver fillings. Do you recommend to have like 3 separate procedures done for safety?

yes we would normally do them a quarter of the mouth at a time over a few visits

Tonight is the first time I have come across your KZbin channel. I'm loving your videos. I have 6 filling placed at the age of about 10-12, I'm now 51. I hope to have 30-40+ more years to look forward to. Would it be still something I can have removed?

I have one amalgam filling from when I was 11. I have never had any problems with them and my Dentist wants to replace them because she claims they are like removing shrinking and I don’t know leaving a perimeter of space I’m still not convinced I should replace them and I told her no I don’t want to. I said if it’s not broken, why fix it and she didn’t like my answer what should I do?
@EvolveDentalHealing
@EvolveDentalHealing 15 сағат бұрын
I'm going to give you the short answer which is you should get them replaced if they are failing; And now the reasons why: You need to replace a failing filling because: Further Tooth Decay: When a filling fails, it creates an opening where bacteria can enter and cause further decay beneath the filling. This can lead to larger cavities, more extensive damage, and potentially even tooth loss. Infection: If the decay reaches the nerve of the tooth, it can cause an infection (abscess). This can lead to severe pain, swelling, and even the need for a root canal. Sensitivity: Failing fillings can leave the underlying tooth exposed, making it sensitive to hot, cold, or sweet foods and drinks. Discomfort: A failing filling can cause pain or discomfort when biting down or chewing. Cosmetic Issues: Failing fillings may become discoloured, chipped, or cracked, affecting the appearance of your smile. Early detection and replacement of failing fillings are crucial for maintaining good oral health and preventing more serious problems. Signs that your filling may be failing: Sensitivity to hot, cold, or sweet foods and drinks Pain when biting down Visible cracks or chips in the filling Discoloyration around the filling Food getting stuck around the filling A gap that the dentist can probe or see where the filling no longer seals the cavity

I wish I had the money to get mine removed. Everyday I blame my health symptoms on the amalgam fillings. I hope they ban the use of amalgam worldwide immediately.

Doctor, my first upper premolar broke from the outside. I replaced it with a white filling. During the filling, I felt a burning sensation in the upper gums with local anesthesia. After a month or more, my tongue started burning at the edges and it became fine after a few days. Two months later, I had sensitivity in the middle of my hands and the top of my feet, with inflammation above the gums of the filling. It went away in two days. Did the filling cause me problems? Note that I have two other fillings, silver and white, in my mouth.

Hello, I ma devastated just found out the white composite are plastic and some bpa. I would go for ceramic but more tooth structure needs to be taken out. wondering of you have video made of that, thank you for videos, so find them very helpfull and you have some kind of calming effect on me haha
@EvolveDentalHealing

yes BPA isn't good. We use BPA free white composite. Ceramic is great - lasts longer, no plastic - downside is cost and yes . you do have to remove slightly more tooth. I'm glad you find my videos calming - must be my bedside manner

I have heard from the Weston Price Foundation that mothers should have mercury fillings removed 2 years before conception. Is this the same for fathers?
@EvolveDentalHealing
@EvolveDentalHealing 4 жыл бұрын
I'm not so sure of the exact length of time but mercury can reduce zinc levels and damage sperm so it can make it harder to conceive. For mothers the issue is that mercury passes to the developing baby across the placenta and also is carried in breast milk

This is five years after this video was posted, but here goes. Along with filling sin three teeth, I have five crowns, and my naturopathic doctor said that I should also get the possible amalgam fillings underneath the crowns removed. Do you agree, and if I do do that, what possible unlooked for consequences might there be. Thanks - and wow, what a great video. Unbelievably helpful.

First, get the teeth checked to see if there is amalgam under the crowns with X-rays although it is not always possible to discern from X-rays alone. To get the amalgam out would mean new crowns and additional expense so you need to consider that. In the past, I have made a small hole in the crown to see if there is amalgam under before progressing. Risks of leaving is that studies show mercury travels through the tooth into the local blood and never supply then on into the body. Risk of removal - additional 'trauma' to the tooth which if it is heavily filled and crowned could impact the nerve, causing inflammation and nerve compromise and possibly then root canal or extraction of a tooth. It's something that needs proper and careful assessment and planning.

@@EvolveDentalHealing Thanks so much for this. Really helpful, especially about using x-rays or small holes into the crowns to determine if amalgam is under the crown - definitely a new idea.. I wish you were my dentist.

I have multiple health problems (hashimoto's thyroiditis, fibromyalgia, liver problems, etc) as well as OCD. I have amalgams in my mouth and am starting the process of getting them removed in about a week. I am wondering, after removing the first one, if I should go one at a time, or if I can do a quadrant at a time. My dentist uses a dam and air supply and stuff like that, but is not a dedicated holistic dentist. Would love to hear your opinion.
@EvolveDentalHealing
@EvolveDentalHealing 3 жыл бұрын
If your dentist is following safe protocol (SMART) then this minimises any exposure to mercury during the process. I would do a quadrant or even half mouth at a time for my patients as the accepted advice now is to get the mercury out of the teeth so that you can eliminate the exposure source and then start a detox program for heavy metals. With someone who has a lot of health issues we work with integrative GP's or a naturopathic doctor.

@@EvolveDentalHealing thanks for your advice about this! My dentist says she uses a dam, an air supply, a carbide drill and chunks the fillings instead of just drilling them out. Hope this is enough for having them removed safely. I also have a naturopath that I am going to go see afterwards for support and heavy metal detoxification.

Do they have air filtration as that is very important to prevent mercury gassing into the room and is a crucial layer of protection

Good overview of the situation. You didn't mention testing which would give a person an idea of where they stood on their accumulation of mercury, as some people detoxify better than others. Two people each with 8 fillings may have significantly different Hg levels depending on many other factors as well. Ie: fish consumption, workplace exposure.

yes other sources of exposure, heath status and nutrition will all have affects on levels of mercury. Many tests for mercury are inaccurate

it is hard to give yes no or this or that answer. If there is active decay or the cavity is hard to keep clan it must be filled. Even if you can keep it clean because the inner of the tooth is exposed the micro tubes in the tooth structure can be invaded by toxins which can damage the nerve - so I recommend filling the cavity after any active decay has been removed
