Ive been fighting for this girl. We've been dating for over a year and I've known her for 4 years. She is very insecure because of people coming into her life and leaving, getting bullied constantly in school being called fat, youre a slut, boyfriends cheating on her and talking down on her. She suffers from severe social anxiety to the point where she can't even order food by herself. She has insane trust issues, she has mental breakdowns when we argue because she fears im going to leave, she gets physically sick by the thought of someone else being with me. And yes it is very unhealthy we both know it. Most people or "dating experts" would label her and say "shes damaged goods" leave her dont make your life hell dating her. She will never change you cant change a person. You cant help her. Know what i have to say to that? Fuck that. I love her to death she means the world to me, i would never stop fighting for someone who puts in so much effort to make me happy everyday and cares about me so much. Ive seen so many videos where people say "shes damaged leave her". *thats the problem* she NEEDS a person thats going be there for her during the toughest times. A strong patient person that will be there for her no matter what happens. Too many people are just so easy to give up on someone who needs the very energy that you can bring. You can have a huge positive impact on someone's life if you play your cards correctly. Its why so many relationships fail today. People arent simply putting in the damn effort to make it work. Our relationship has been really hard at times and yes ive had thoughts of giving up but i have a stronger will to stay with her for life. She's committed herself to improving herself and i say if you have someone who is willing to better themselves you should NEVER give up on them. This doesnt mean lose yourself in the process. Still set your boundaries and communicate. Dont tip toe around the problem. But at the same time learn about your partner, understand them. This way youll know how to atleast help them. And no you cannot change a person but you sure as hell can have an impact, as long as they WANT to change. Sorry this comment was random but i needed to get this off my chest because of other vidoes ive seen. I stand firm in what i believe in.

Adrian, I’m not super happy with my relationship. So many things are there in the relationship. We are supportive of each, we love each. But my advice is, you can let her know this, i got dumped without her giving me clues that the relationship was fading. if I did got clues, I would have done everything to improve right away, maybe she will too. hope this will help you out a little wish you all the best

Your personal feelings are always fair in the sense that they are what they are, and have been caused by something -cause and effect....and it's always best to communicate your feelings, because until then, you are working it out by yourself which sometimes works, but not always, especially when the feelings are a result of someone else's actions or words...and keep in mind that sometimes your feelings can been falsely shaped (maybe you took something the wrong way, or maybe you don't really understand why your partner is acting in a way that you don't like). Relationships in general are challenging, and for no other reason than you're dealing with two people, sharing one life....a life that is very diverse, and ever changing...and both people want to be happy. We all change over time as we each are nothing more than a sum of our experiences which have shaped who we are up to any given point, with all new experiences moving forward, continuously further shaping who we are, both good and bad. If you can first realize this, your halfway to understanding. The difficult part is to have the other person realize this, and then for your both to be willing to analyze yourselves, and who it is you each are, -the good and the bad, and then to take from the other, their opinion as to what it is about you that may not be favorable, and then to see what you can do to work on it....no one person is perfect, and no relationship is without its problems and challenges....this is the life we live in but the beautiful thing is, we are all in full control. Best of luck....life is beautiful and short.....make it what you want it to be......no one person has the answers for you.....only you can know what is "right."

Thank you for sharing this video. Me and my bf broke up 3 weeks ago and got back together last night. This is not just the 1st or 2nd time he broke up with me because of my personality issues, he didn't like the way I treated him verbally, silent treatment, and not a good listener and blaming him for things that made me unhappy everyday and this has something to do with my childhood and the verbal abused growing up. He understood and was very forgiving but he grew apart and became resentful. I found out after a week of break up he flirted with another girl, met her for dinner, took selfie at his apartment, the girl tried to have sex with him, and he refused, she left note in his bathroom mirror that ripped my heart 2days ago after reading it, and then he told me he texted her and said he doesn't like to hang out with her anymore because he didn't like the way the girl was acting and she's moving too fast and wanted sex the first day they dated. I saw all their msgs together and photo together and my heart was shattered to pieces and I felt betrayed. Even if we broke up, we kept each other keys for our apartments. We hang out and that's how I found out about the girl. We were not in a relationship for that week but I still felt betrayed that he let this girl in that fast in his life. I was hurt and my world fell apart knowing that he attempted to replace me that fast. He said I just needed someone to talk to then. He said he didnt like her and I am far better than her. I didnt really understand his thought process and im very hurt. We had more than a yr of relationship and It was easy for him to see another girl a week after he ended our relationship. He said "she asked me to go out for dinner and i was just being nice to her so I said YES".... He never cheated on me before. Though they stopped communicating now, the pain is still unbearable and yet I am very forgiving and I still love him because He is the most important person in my life.. I cried my heart out to him repeatedly, too many times after multiple break ups and he's been very forgiving and tried to help me recover and be a better person. I was very willing to do anything to bring our happiness back. This last break up was the hardest, more serious and he even moved all his stuff from my place, which he never did from prior break ups. It felt impossible to win him because he firmly said NO and firmly said he just wants to be friends. He said we can't get along and can't be happy together anymore and that he gave me so many chances but I know deep inside he still has feelings for me and he just grew tired of my behavior. Last night, I talked to him, told him I will better myself for me not just for the relationship, I started to listen to him because from the past I did all the talking and interrupted him so many times, but I changed my perspective and came to realization that I was mean. There may be things that I really honestly didnt like about him as well, but the way I communicated with him was hurtful and hateful and he finally was able to voice out his unhappiness in our relationship. He said he was too scared to talk to me because he gets silent treatment and gets yelled at. I sobbed and apologize. I know i have to build his trust drop by drop. Apology won't work. I said I will do things on his perspective and I will improve myself. I proposed a plan, that we both make our journal or email to one another, discuss things he didn't like in our relationship and about me and I will also do the same thing, I told him I am willing to better myself and I am willing to seek help, I will do it for me not for him. I will work on becoming the right person for him and I am willing do everything just for him to give our relationship another chance. He finally said yes, He told me if I'll write all the things I want and didn't like about our relationship you mind change your mind and not want us to get back together anymore. But I said No, I want to know everything and things that I want to avoid doing moving forward. He agreed to give us another chance. It was the happiest moment of our relationship for the past year. It's not all about the pain and storm we faced, but how we got back together and how we became stronger despite of challenges. I love my boyfriend deeply and I told him that even if he pushes me away, I know that he still have feelings for me, and that we can still be happy again. I love him and he matters to me more than anything. I made him feel very important last night , and that i failed to show it before the break up. My priority is to be a good person, be appealing to him, and be consistent with the new me, I will love him for who he is instead of blaming him every day for my unhappiness. I will write a journal putting all my relationship commitments. I realized the value of my bf when I lost him. I can't lose him ever again. Misha el thank you for sharing that, I'm in the same situation right now. We just broke up last night, prior to that we took a 2 day break. Honestly alot of it was my fault due to issues I never dealt with. Anxiety, depression and past trauma... I didn't care for her enough, I wasnt showing her enough affection and I'd always instigate fights because of all the past trauma that I never worked through. And now I'm going to try and work through it. She came over a few hours ago to talk it out and I wrote a list of what I know she needs and what I know I need to change to show her that I really am trying. I'm still scared of her deciding that she won't want to get back together though.

So I'm pretty sure I just need to let it go. We want very different things out of life. I just moved to a new country for the fourth time and I'm set on traveling the world. I don't see him ever leaving his hometown. He also has severe avoidance issues and I'm the type of person who will freak out if I can't talk about a problem when I feel like I need to. We would literally set plans to talk things through and then he would just disappear and leave me in a fit of rage. I dont really feel comfortable with sharing this because I am a private person. But its best for me to get this out and stop holding on to this inner pain and anger I have for many men. Im 30 years old and after many years of being in toxic relationships I am both drained mentally and physically with dating. I find that many men do sleep around and seem to not know how to communicate in a way that will make the relationship grow stronger. Being in a relationship requires growth, not staying the same forever because you are not the same person you were 10 years ago or even 5 years ago. I need some advice: I’m the dumpee (sad violin in the background) It’s been 7 weeks since the breakup. About two weeks into the breakup a friend of his who also knows me told me dumper had said “I would consider getting back together but things would have to change.” (Not word for word but close enough). It's frustrating to always be the one putting in the work, apologizing and believing in our future together that sometimes I doubt whether I'm fooling myself or not. Hi Adrian, I’ve just come across your video online and it’s inspired me and given me the hope I need.... but I am looking for your advice and help please. To cut a long story down, I’ve known Keshia for years and we always knew something was there but at the time she was in a relationship. She lives in Sydney, Australia where I used to live but I’m now in London, England. Recently this year in February we reconnected, I sent her flowers for Valentine’s Day and things quickly snowballed to the point where we would be talking everyday, sometimes twice a day, tagging each other in stupid things online etc. I told her I was going to come back for her.... I did about 6 weeks later. It was the most amazing time with her and we both got on like a house on fire and did brilliant things together creating memories. We went on a date to a comedy club, and I think this is where the problems started. We were getting heckled by the comedians and at the end of the night we were laughing so much I decided to ask her to be my girlfriend... I think this was to soon but to me it felt right! Moving forward over the rest of my trip everything went fine and we kept enjoying our time together until I had to leave to go back to London. While I left I decided to book another trip six weeks later back to Sydney for her birthday and surprise her with a trip to Byron bay as she had never been. I did this to show commitment and to also have something for both of us to look forward to which I thought was romantic. The weeks passed and we still talked but it seemed she was slightly off and I could senses this. I didn’t think anything of it at first until it got worse until eventually got to the point where we were hardly speaking at all. When we did speak about it she felt that everything was too rushed and she felt under pressure with everything and wanted to not have the title boyfriend and girlfriend no want me to invest my money and time in coming over to see her. This became a downward spiral and mentally she had already given up on us before we even started. We have now spoken about this and she wants to remain friends but we are now back to talking a lot. Her birthday is in two weeks and I’ve cancelled the trip to Byron But I still want to fly out to Sydney to speak to her face-to-face I have the flights and a hotel already booked and hoping even if I speak to her just once she may look at things differently. As you can see it’s very tricky situation because I don’t want to push you away I care about so much and I know she does me it’s just the distance that is a problem. I am I am business some flexible to fly out as and when, as she is employed I have said I would do this every month 4 to 6 weeks for the short term see if we can evolve things between us. I’ve been speaking to multiple people about this and honestly do not know what to do, I really appreciate if you read this and give me some kind of advice what to do in this situation. I am an entertainer a massage therapist and a bartender and the man I love is very jealous he trusts nobody no one at all and he does not trust me. In hindsight I realized my wrong which brought me to KZbin to find some insight on how to better myself. We arent speaking rn but I am unsure if I should give up bc I think she is ready to. Its been about a week and I know it needs more time but I don't want to cause myself too much pain holding on to the idea of us. What do I do?
