I’m a revert for 2 and half years I got married only after being Muslim for approximately 6 months … within this time i’ve almost completed my Qari program and I’ve also enrolled into the AMAU student of knowledge program and certainly all praise and success is only achieved through Allah SWT

Assalamu alaykum thank you for posting! One look at my face and you can tell I'm a revert lol...but it's ok. Have you ever read Malik Al-Shabazz's letter from Mecca? I LOVE his entire message...especially when he says "Islam erases the idea of racism". And fundamentally, that is very true. When it is time for salat in the masjid...we all line up...shoulder to shoulder...irrespective of color or culture. But...then what happens...AFTER salat? Everyone separates again. Does the Qu'ran not state for a fact the entire human race originated from Adam and Eve? Yet we still have SO much trouble APPLYING this understanding to our own daily mindsets. Allah SWT has especially blessed me with a very diverse family...it helps me appreciate everything that is unique about everyone as well as everything we share in common...and love people all the more for it. But it pains my heart at times how nervous others are around me...at least until they get to know me. My brothers...my sisters...I wear my heart on my sleeve. I show you who I am...you show me who you are...and may our ru'uh remember we have always been friends. JazakAllah khayran to all who strive in the way of Islam!

@Nina Nana Are you sure you can handle a (white)revert? Since most born muslim have their own culture, can you really do anything out of cultures norm? Or do you or maybe even your family have some guides that you yourself or even your white ‘husband’ have to abide by. Don’t forget that most white people have a ‘western culture’ where everything is about themselves. So putting in your family into the equations, heck even their opinion or listening to orders from your family, is a huge thing to overcome. I don’t even think it’s possible to overcome it. I myself i’m interested in a revert as well. He doesn’t have to be white. But i do consider the fact that people who don’t have a culture with set norms can see life different and that i have to accept that and not burden them with my cultural mentality. Not that i have many. But still. Just because you want it, does not mean you fully understand what you’re getting yourself into. If your are interested: look around, ask trustworthy sisters, get some information from your local masjid and as last resort look for an organizations that match up single muslims the halal ways. May Allah make it easy for you. Ameen.

Connect with the masjid. It’s the best way, we have become fragmented as a community but that’s the best way. Pure matrimony seems to be a decent website that I have been using lately as well. I’m also working on building a website for this, most of the Muslim sites/apps I just find horrible. Drop me an email if it is of interest to you.
