I just had my thorogood loggers resoled by a local cobbler for approximately half the price of a new pair and they came out great. Feel as good as new. The local cobbler I used gave me close to the same options as thorogood for a good (maybe better?) price.

For the sake of this video and your channel, it would be fun to see them resoled and see how much more life you can get from them, but it’s also not cheap either. Whatever you decide they are awesome boots! Best of luck!!

resole them and wear them as weekend boots, even if its just for nostalgia purposes

Got two and half years as a GM/Cummins Diesel Tech. Worn 7 days a week, rain, mud, snow, diesel fluids, etc. Leather finally gave out, never conditioned or babied so more than likely my fault. HIGHLY RECOMMEND, extremely comfortable, wedge soles where/are still mint. 165 lbs not a big boy so wear varies obviously.

if you like them have them resole them They could look real good with some work as well. One thing I learned with work boots is the breaking in transition from a boot that knows your feet to one that does not can be trying to say the least. Even just to ease into a new pair when you wear them a few days, and the old one a few days until the break in period is done. Just my thoughts. Not like you wont wear them after that anyway from time to time. If you decide to get rid of them later bring them to Goodwill or some other place like that. Some poor guy or a kid just starting his first job could use them.

im coming up on 2 years in my thorogoods, was planning on resoling them when they wear out. i think you should get it done you’ll probably get another 3 years out of em. but if you’re not in love with them and want to keep trying different boots i tried on some slip on danner boots the other day in the store and they seem like a thorogood/blundstone hybrid they seemed pretty solid and comfortable too. around the same price, american made and seems to be a good future work boot

I'd be curious to see how they come back after a full clean and re-sole. Not sure if it's worth it compared to a brand new pair though.

I had three pairs of Thorogood boots resoled at a local shop this year and they are like new again

Thorogood uses Nushoe Inc. out of San Diego California - you can probably get a local cobbler to do it for half the price. Thorogood wedge outsoles are made by Merramac, they’re a polyurethane based wedge sole, just request the cobbler to use Merramac outsole, it won’t say “Max Wear Wedge” on it like Thorogoods, but it’s the same outsole. Danner, Carolina, Duradero and many others use the same outsole. Your local guy should easily be able to do it. They cut the old sole off, sand down the slipper sole and cement the new one on. Done.

Thorogood does have a pull on boot never had them but I imagine scene those lasted 3 year the pull on might last the same amount of time

Get a new pair, sometimes it's good to try a new pair. Maybe donate them to someone who can get them resole and use them.

If I were you, I'd get new ones as you mention pros and cons of various styles. Resoling would require you to be committed for another 3 years? And while thats great marketing for thorogood, I'd move on. You could always come back to them. Furthermore, do you realize you could sell them on eBay and get big bucks?

What size?

I think you should retire them and move on instead of paying to have them resoled. Put your money on a new moc soled boot instead. Good luck.
