Time to talk to my doc about this; no one's ever said anything about taking bile salts or digestive enzymes after having my gall bladder removed over 10 years ago. A lot of things were never explained to me post-procedure that would've made a world of difference. So tired of the symptoms that have really impaired my quality of life. Thank you.

Makes you wonder if your doctor is a 2nd grader in disguise!!! From all of the comments given by people who've had gallbladder removal, this seems to be a VERY COMMON PROBLEM. Just pay attention to the vast number of people who were NEVER told anything about bile salts by their PCP or their SURGEON. Just listening to these KZbin videos and reading the comments will blow your mind. No one ever told them to take bile salts. Guess what - some have been able to get off of Prilosec for heartburn and throatburn. Sheesh!🤔🙁😡 Need to overhaul what they are teaching in medical school and tell them to talk to their patients.

My surgeon never told me any of this, either, before my gallbladder was taken out. All he said was that you can live just fine without a gallbladder. Well, maybe some people can but not me. Ever since the surgery I’ve had severe constipation mixed with cramps and diarrhea at times and extreme weight loss. Not to mention slow stomach motility causing chronic gastritis. Been to many gastroenterologists for help and most just throw up their hands in confusion and tell me to go to a tertiary center like Cleveland Clinic. I am feeling weak a lot as I’m not absorbing nutrients well. It’s been hell for two years. I had to research all this on my own and finally am taking bile salts and enzymes but still not gaining my weight back. If I’d have known I’d have all these issues, I never would have had that surgery.

I had my gallbladder out over 15 years ago, no one told me I needed to take bile salts until I'm learning this now! 😮 Now I have fatty liver, not from drinking but most likely from sugar, carbs, and medications for inflammation and pain, from fibromyalgia, arthritis and neuropathy. Thank you! I'm trying to start intermittent fasting, and will get bile salts!

I wish my daughter could see you. She had her gallbladder removed about 9 years ago at the age of 24. I felt this was way too young but the surgeon "thought this was the problem, though he did not see real evidence". He also told us she would be fine after surgery - NOT. She has has problems ever since. Chronic stomach issues, diarrhea, etc. Nobody even cares to listen.

Had my gallbladder removed in the early 80's and not once did anyone tell me that I needed digestive enzymes or bile salts and now after suffering from chronic indigestion for a nbr of years and doing my own research looks like I found my answer. I pray that these so called specialists who remove organs have not caused me to damage my liver and given me fatty liver disease or pancreatitis.

Omg, I'm partially so mad, and so relieved, both at the same time! I had my gallbladder removed 20 years ago. I asked my doc at the time, what are my alternative options aside from surgery? What are the long-term side effects? And he basically made it sound like if I didn't remove it, I would be in pain, have to zap gallstones, and possibly on expensive medication for the rest of my life; whereas if I had it removed, all my problems magically disappear. (I'm wondering if they get a bonus for talking people into surgeries now, lol.) I chose to have it removed. There was zero mention of bile salts, digestive enzymes, etc; in fact the opposite; he told me that my body produced more than enough bile to digest my food without my gall bladder and I could go on living a normal life. This right here is why (some) doctors are so dangerous, with their "I'm a medical professional and you aren't" (Yes, they've actually said that to my face if I ask questions) attitude.

That was very helpful, I have just suggested to my gastroenterologist that bile salts may help. My gall bladder was probably removed in error as it was heathy. It would appear my undiagnosed celiac disease was in fact the cause of so much pain. I have just suggested to him that bile salts may help as I know I am deficient if my laterally striped fingernails are a clue. So glad to get your advice that bile salts are a bad idea. My doctor seemed perplexed by my suggestion.

Thanks for sharing this valuable information that doctors don't tell us! New subscriber here. I had my gallbladder removed 10 months ago and doctors just sent me home saying everything was going to be fine. Now, I have diarrhea alternating with constipation, heartburn, indigestion and severe inflamed colon. My primary doctor prescribed me digestive enzymes that have helped me a little, but still not feeling good, I mentioned to doctors about bile salts and tudca and they said no. I'm wonder if I can take digestive enzymes and bile salts with big meals together? if so, should I take both before the meal right? I actually starting taking Tudca days ago, following one of your videos, one Am and one PM (250 mg each time). Thanks again!

From what I can figure out from a lifetime of struggling before and after my gallbladder was removed is that I have too much bile. My skin irrupt’s with blisters and feels like I am on fire. I’m 61 years old and this has been a lifetime battle. I was actually born with eczema and it has continue to be a problem no matter what I do. I think I can adjust this with my diet somewhat. My doctor did subscribe a RX That helped temporarily. I stopped taking it after a year. I just know I feel like I’m losing hope. I have no problems with gas or bloating. I have bright yellow loose floating stools. I have no thyroid issues. Fodmap diet is something I’ve been told me help, but I can’t find one that doesn’t contradict itself. Help.

@@thejdocrealminute4648 I Had already stopped taking bile salts months ago because they were burning me so badly. And I don’t consume fatty foods at all hardly the good ones or the bad ones. I had my doctor call a new script for cholestyramine. I had been on it months ago but it stopped working and honestly I hated taking it because of the flavor and the lumps that you cannot stir out of it. But I am changing my eating habits back to a Fodmap type of thing- which honestly are most of the foods that I crave anyway. I also I’m a little nervous about the excess amount of mucus so I probably need to get a colonoscopy done to be certain that everything is in the clear. In regards to the eczema I was born with it literally. I had it as my mother carried me in her room. I wonder if her smoking Pall Mall buttless cigarettes all the way through the pregnancy and then the second hand smoke that we endured as children for years has done something to my DAO gene. I don’t have dry skin anywhere else in my body I don’t have wrinkles to speak of at all- but for some reason this certain part of my body remains to be a continual literal hotspot. I feel like I’m trying to tackle a few things on my own because the medical community does it really look at the whole body. I would appreciate any suggestions. I’m desperate.

You need to understand that the majority of people do not have to do anything any different when they have their gallbladder removed and they won't have a problem. There are about 20 percent of people who will have some problems with diarrhea but there are some things you can do. Your medical doctor is the one you should be seeing about problems relating to the operation, specifically the gastroenterologist who did the surgery.

I have now developed all sorts of problems and I am not saying it is down to this but it may be. Sometimes I am constipasted, sometimes I have loose stools. I am constantly bloated and look about 8 months pregnant. My stomach is hard and I often burp. My skin is dry to the point it flakes off my face. My scalp is the same. I have itchy, dry eyes and blurred vision. I have recently had bloods done because my energy levels are non existent even after having my B12 injections, and they have all came back normal. Vitamin D levels are 25??? I was suffering with very low levels a few years back. I have terrible heartburn constantly too. I have now been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. My cholesterol is 7.3 but I cannot stand the effects of statins. I do not have this under control. I know you cannot advise me because you are not my doctor but do you think I would benefit from taking bile salts. To be honest, until watching your video, I had never heard of them. Many thanks. Ok----Bile salts are a primary component of bile and are needed by the body to help break down fats, aid digestion, absorb important vitamins, and eliminate toxins. Bile salts are stored in your gallbladder when they're not being used. If your gallbladder is removed, it can lead to a bile salt deficiency. www.healthline.com/health/bile-salts#:~:text=Bile%20salts%20are%20a%20primary,to%20a%20bile%20salt%20deficiency.

I've been asking my health team about this and they are rude, laugh at me and tell me to stop going on the internet. I'm so frustrated. I have a fatty liver and gallstones, so they only want to focus on removing the gallbladder and not what's causing the issues of the low bile I'm creating in the first place. I've also has chronic constipation for years. So the fact they literally tell me...none of this is connected at all to the gallbladder issue and just take it out and all my problems will be solved...I'm not convinced. By removing the gallbladder...it impacts the bile even more, so how would THAT help my constipation when I need the lubrication for the colon? They tell me nothing needs to be compensated for. I'm so annoyed.

Why would you take the bile salts before a meal since bile salts are alkaline? The stomach needs acid to break down your food, so adding bile salts right before or during a meal makes no sense. Wouldn't it make sense to take it 60-90 minutes after a meal?

Hello and thanks for this video! Had mine removed 15 years ago and recently learned about bile salts. Started looking into it because my liver sometimes feels like it has gas bubbles or something. I’ve never had any problems with digestion other than the sensations that I’m feeling now. I took bile yesterday for the first time, one with lunch and one with dinner. Today I am bloated and it looks like something congealed hasn’t been used (if you know what I mean, I don’t want to get too graphic). This has me concerned and wondering if I should be taking it. Is this normal? Is there something else I should add to it? Thanks in advance!

Taking bile salts after a LARGE..meal.....can be beneficial because you are HELPING the gallbladder. The gallbladder is constantly making 'bile' as long as YOU are eating 'healthy fat' foods. Bile--- is made from good-fat-foods --- you can get gallstones by eating 'too little' fats. In addition, high estrogen makes the bile 'boggy' as well. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jpCblJiEh61nna8 --- this is great to take together ..

@thejdocrealminute4648
@thejdocrealminute4648 Жыл бұрын
So here's the other side of the SIBO coin: while yes, bile keeps SIBO from overgrowing, once you have SIBO, it fights back by deconjugating bile acids. This deconjugation should occur only in the colon primarily, because that's where the vast majority of the bacteria is supposed to be.
